Hello
I am currently having talks with the CCCS about BR as I think i have no other option. I will be downloading the forms as advised but I have misplased the piece of paper with the form numbers on and the email address I need to download them from. Can someone advise.
The dates that people are advising of BR is this when you are handing in your form.
Sorry i am new to all of this and very anxious about the whole thing but I know I will be fine once its all done.
My OH has left me in the siutuation and when i asked him to make more of a fair contribution (as the CCCS advised I was making 3/4 and him 1/4) a week later i come home from work to find all his stuff had gone.0 -

Hi Lesley
welcome to the BR board, you are welcome to join us. The dates people have are the dates that we are going to the courts to declare ourselves BR. It is normal to be worried but you have come to a good place to get help and advice and all for free!
Sorry to be blunt but I think you might be better off without your OH, if he is not prepared to pay his equal share then you will probably manage better on your own in the long run even if it does seem really hard just now. It will get much better. just take your time doing things and one day at a time.
have a good read through all that fermi has posted and then get a thread started on the main board with all of your questions and we will help you out.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Thank you DON79 and Fermi.
I have never been on a forum before so not sure what a thread is but I am sure i will discover what it is now I have joined a forum.
I do however have a few questions on some information I have read about BR.
The bank account freezeing and what i need to do about my wages? I have opended another bank account with Co-op as per CCCS advice but I have not yet transfered funds or my direct debits to it.
I have been advised by CCCS that the BR will last for about 5-6 years. My ex-OH has threaten to run off and take no responsibility for the joint mortgage we have with NR. What will happen once I am out of my BR and NR have not been able to locate the EX with regards to the money that will be owed with the house being in Neg Equity. Can I be expected to pay it all back after this period has lapsed?
What method is suggested when applying for BR. Online or written?
Is the date then confirmed to me that I have to go to court? This is what I am not looking forward to one bit!!!
I just be glad when its all done so I can get on with my life again. I not looking forward to the next couple of months.:(0 -
Hi Lesley, I have copied and pasted your questions onto a post on the main board so that the experts can help you out too!BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

Good Morning everyone...
I had a bad dream last night that I told my employer about the BR and I got the heave-ho! I must admit there have been times in my life where I have regretted my "honesty" in telling people things that really didn't need to be told and ending up with it biting me on the bum.
I have read my contract and terms and conditions of employement and there is absolutely nothing on there..... so, I am going to keep quiet. I have just got a nagging feeling that it could go wrong if I do anything else.
Wel, I have written the "Provi" lady a short note telling her that I am not going to be making any payments and that the CCCS is giving me advice. I think I have to tell her that, otherwise I will have her outside my flat causing merry hell and I don't want my neighbours to know. I will also leave my mobile phone at home today - I am sure she will be trying to contact me....
I am still a bit worried about the amount of overtime I will be asked to work from Jan onwards. Having told us that there will be none available and leading to me filing for BR, it now seems that will not be the case. I am going to base my income on my salary plus 35 hrs a month overtime. This will give me £88 surplus - lower than the magic IVA limit. As long as I work 20 hours I will meet my outgoings budget. Interesting that my basic salary doesn't even cover my SOA (and it is pretty low) and yet I still don't qualify for any benefit help. And if anyone is wondering why people are getting into debt nowadays, Go figure.......
I had a bit of a shock yesterday.... after reading the thread on car valuation I decided to look up the value of my dear little Fiat Punto on Parkers and I was really surprised to see it is only worth £1485 - about £500 less than I thought which is better for the purposes of keeping it but sad nevertheless.:(
Off to work now, just 9.30 - 5.30 today ...... part time for me!
TaTa for now,

Hi SA, sorry you had a bad dream but remember you do not have to tell your employer and they are not entitled to know. I only told my employer because I work in a bank and they would probably find out being a bank etc etc.
just don't acknowledge any attempts that the provi lady makes to try and contact you. there is nothing she can do and she can try intimidate you but tell her to go away because you are getting advice from cccs.
I really do not understand the benefits system, after I had my second baby and I went back to work part time, my income actually dropped by over 8K a year. But we did not get any extra help from tax credits whatsoever! which doesn't seem right to me but the powers that be decided we did not need more help!
I hope that your overtime remains pretty constant, but remember - don't work too hard!
I had a punto - I really like them, they are great little cars, I like fiats as I had a brava before that and it was a great car - but they unfortunately do lose their value quite a bit! I really wish I had kept my brava but I stupidly didn't. It was a biggish family car and I got rid of it and got a punto (2 door) and then found out I was pregnant! 2 door punto's and babies just do not mix!
Speak to you later on!BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0
