Pics of signs and both sides of ticket are needed, remove identifying details but leave dates and times. Host on tinypic and put theurl into a post and remove http://. Also take all details and post onto pepipoo.com, get all the neighbours together and do the same.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

You almost certainly have a case, even if the suspended bay signs were there days before. Many suspended bay signs are unauthorised so the Councils shouldn't be using them without special dispensation (from the DfT I think). Only a few Councils have this AFAIK.

Post on pepipoo with pics of the ticket front and back (minus PCN no. and car reg):

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

Read the FAQs and stickies first please for info, and to see how to post pictures. Then read a few threads about suspended bays to give you the gist before starting your own topic with pics.

Good luck, I expect you'll win. Come back and tell us when the PCN is cancelled!

Why would you not appeal? Most people win.

  • Hi,

I dont know if anyone has had the same problem as me but would like to what you did

I got a ticket for not displaying my ticket. I did display it however as i closed the door it flew off the dash and was on the floor on my return.

I wrote to the council and sent them my ticket showing evidence that I had paid. They wrote back saying still got to pay it as the rule is my responsibility to visibly display it.

As far as im concerned i did display it in full view and it was down to an act of god and a geniue mistake.

Here you go, just copy this advice from pepipoo (successful 'fluttering ticket' appeal):

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=59572

I am also SchoolRunMum over on pepipoo and if you follow the links I gave that poster you can read up on this and see that the Council should have followed guidance to cancel your ticket. And you will see that the poster of that thread has just reported success!

You'll get there in the end I fully expect, you almost certainly should win this one at adjudication (which costs you nothing extra). Post a new thread over on pepipoo forums, show them your PCN front and back and a pic of the rejection letter.

Hey, I took a risk yesterday parking outside a friends house at 6:15pm when the residents only parking was until 6:30pm. There were other spaces nearby for other residents. I came back to find a ticket issued at 6:25, 5 minutes before the residents parking ran out. Can I appeal this with any hope? Shall I send a pleasant letter asking nicely to be let off as it was only 5 minutes? £35 is more than I would like to spend for 15 minutes 'illegal parking' :(

HTH, you will probably get off the penalty charge if you follow their advice. Worth a punt.

This thread seems a lot shorter than it was...
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
