well can you please tell me what is wrong with this letter BFG..?0

Just about everything.
Was this in a private car park, if so just ignore them.
If a council/police ticket then the only hope you have is to follow the system, this letter will get you absolutely nowhere.
Copy all paperwork and post it on here. the stickies show you how. Before you do start your own thread so as not to get lost. This thread is for discussing Martins article not individual cases.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Hi,
I have used this site before to help me claim back £1000 in credit card charges and hope you can help me again.
My guest parked outside my house in wimbledon, using the visitor permit I have. We returned to the car to find it has been issued with an £100 parking ticket. On phoning them up they stated it was because there was no permit in the car. I argued this poin with them, they checked the photo and funnily enough you can see a white square in the windscreen exactly where I said it would be. However the person on the phone claimed that in the photo you cant read its a permit....(what else would it be i wonder?) I checked the car myself and you can see clearly the permit number etc. Unfortunately i couldnt take my own photographic proof as the car holder was on a flying visit.
I have been told to write and ask for it contesting. Is there a template letter for this or correct phrasing I should use. As you can imagine Im fuming about this and I know telling them exactly what I think of them will get me nowhere.0 -
Could anyone advise me? I received a parking ticket from the local council. The information on the ticket shows the wrong registration number ie one letter is incorrect. Someone mentioned that they take a photo of the car reg.
Thank you.0 -

Thank you.
Keep your head down and wait for them to contact you (which they should not be able to do ) If they do send you the next form (nto) then its a surefire appeal as they have the registration incorrect. Its your lucky day.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Can anyone please advise or help?
On 15 September my vehicle received a £90 fine (£45 if payable in 14 days) for parking in a private carpark, on a council-owned housing estate.
The vehicle is registered to my company, and I am the 'designated' driver of the car. I was not, however, the driver on when the fine was issued.
Initially I did not reply to the to the 2 x invoices from UKPC, both of which were sent to my company's address.
UKPC have now put the matter in the hands of Debt Recovery Plus Limited - my company received their first letter on 19 October, the second arrived yesterday (sent 27 October).
The second letter states that DRPL now intend to pursue payment from the vehicle keeper, i.e my company, and the letter is a 'notice of intended litigation''. It states that failure to pay (fine now £147.50) will result in the case being referred back to UKPC, which may leed to the application of a County Court Judgement, with costs increasing to £252.50. Interestingly, they are giving 7 days to pay the £147.50.
The last thing I want is bailiffs wielding CCJ's turning up at my place of work.
Do I have grounds to stand my ground or should I now pay the £147.50 and put this sorry matter to rest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated0 -
Your parking charge isn't a fine and it isn't going to litigation. That's what they want you to think and they have nearly succeeded, going by your post title.
At this stage in the letter scam, they really put the frighteners on but debt recovery agents are not Bailliffs so they cannot actually recover the debt (as it's not a legal 'debt' and because debt recovery agents have no powers to enforce anything).
Read the other posts on this board (for a current list of threads, click on the blue link 'Parking Fines, Tickets & Parking' which is just underneath the orange 'BANKING SAVING' tab at the top of the page). Or search UKPC to find other similar threads of people also ignoring letters from the same PPC.
I believe most PPCs stop once they have issued Debt Recovery and fake Solicitors' letters, so you are near the end. Be strong.
BTW new cases should always be posted on a new thread.
As stated many times above, this thread is not for this purpose - but hope this reply helps. Please start a new thread if you want further replies to reassure you to ignore.
