  • Slightly off topic but i've been called a "PPC Troll" on another site mentioned on here. I don't know whether to be happy that I've been noticed or upset to be classed as one of "them".
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Just got a letter today about a parking fine 3 weeks ago from a private firm, my wife drives the car now so i phoned her saying was it you, she said " yes it was me, it was raining that day so parked there at got a 4 hour ticket" i replied did you put it on the dashboard so could be seen "yes" she replied, Where is the ticket now " i threw it away as i thought everything was fine as no parking ticket on the car".
what a bloody con got a parking fine when you do actually pay for the carpark, got no evidence now so i'm just going to say nothing.
What would you do in this situation? am i right to ignore or explain that we did buy a ticket but didn't get a parking fine on the car so threw the ticket away.
Really to me this just shows that how much all this is a big sham.
  • Hey I'm a newbie n could do with some advice.
I received 3 PCN's for being parked during restricted hours in a residential street. I appealed on the grounds that my vehicle was not observed for long enough (5 to 6 mins) and the issuer had not observed the loading time.
I appealed to each one individually and within 14 days - the 1st being on the 10th July and the last on 29th August.
Today I receive a letter saying ALL 3 of my appeals are not grounded as no evidence of loading or unloading was evident and I have 14 days to pay the reduced fine.
Firstly, can they take 9 weeks to respond (to the 1st & 2nd PCNs)? Secondly, can they put all 3 together in 1 envelope with the same payment due date on each? Thirdly, should I take this to the next stage of 'formal representations' as the parking attendants were not visable during their observations so how can they say it was not evident I was loading if they were not there?

    Any advice much appreciated
    Thanks

You would be well advised to start your own thread as this is important enough not to get lost in the wrong thread. If left here the experts may well not see it and you would lose the benefit of their knowledge. Maybe ask Crabman to move it?

  • Can anyone help? I have just received a parking fine of £75 from a private company on a Tesco car park. I parked my car, and had no change for the ticket. So i went into Tesco, bought a sandwich which was located next to the enterance to get some change. I was in the store for about 90 seconds (im sure they have CCTV to prove this). I then walked back to my car to find a guy putting a ticket on my car and taking a photo? Can he do this? I only went to get change. The machine does not take notes, nor does it give change, so i had no option if i wanted to shop here. Just wondered what anyone thought before i appealed. Thanks in advance.

You have not received a fine you have received an invoice which you need not pay.

    Do not appeal - ignore
  • I wonder if I can pick your brains lovely people.

I was issued a parking fine last week but the details on the ticket regarding the car tax disc do not correpond with the actual tax disc.

There are a couple of errors mainly the date of expiry on the ticket is incorrect it shows the tax disc as being out of date.

I have written to the council pointing this out and asking for the ticket to be cancelled given the fact that the information recorded is incorrect.

They wrote back today stating the tac disc details are for information only and the fine still stands.

What confuses me is why they need to record the information to begin with?

    Any advice?
  • Tell me ohh wise ones...

I received a letter from warrington council saying i had received a PCN and hadnt payed within 14 days.
So they have doubled the cost of the original fine.
