  • Hi all:D

Just getting all the bits done before DS breaks up from school tomorrow.
The list seems to be getting longer:eek: .

Need to make a final food list and get that shopped for tomorrow evening.
DS has his xmas school play at 6 30 tonight and we have promised him sausage and chips from chippy after it.
It is also his school party tomorrow so I have just baked 2 huge traybakes to take in which need icing later.
I love xmas but when you are organising it all it is hard work:rolleyes: .
Will be happy Tuesday night when all jobs are done and can relax properly and enjoy it.
DS is revving up for xmas and getting a bit hyper with it all......xmas and autism don`t always mix well:cool: .

Taplady hope all goes well tomorrow, as others have said see it as a way of celebrating her life and remembering your special friendship.
Mudgekin sorry about you and DH`s bad news, you will get much support on here when you are ready.

hugs to anyone else ill or finding life hard

  • AFternoon,

been to Uni, then popped into placement (where I gather half the team are off sick...). Home again now & feeling absolutely wiped out, however i have my letters to type for my paid work, & then watch some mini-panto sketches at youngest DD's school tonight. At least if I get the letters done now then when we're home again this evening I can go straight to bed.

    ((((((hugs)))))) mudgekin, thinking of you.
Taplady, hope all goes ok tomorrow & you remember the good times as well.
Betheebee, i'm sure your DB's appreciate all the support you provide, you are very generous of spirit.

Mudgkin - I am so dreadfully sorry that you have had such awful news, as everyone has said if you need to off load we are here for you x
    taplady ((( hugs)))
thriftlady how is DS? has he fully recovered?
    Morning everyone!

sistercas - Watched it, drooled and thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Me too, he had a bad throat too bless him. I agree about george clooney having beautiful eyes, ;)

come home from work to a terrible mess in the kitchen, the lights were on there was hamster food and bedding all over, the iron was on the floor ,DD2 has left all her xmas presents behind. I have come to the conclusion that it was a normal morning for two hormonal teenage girls and a stressed out DH- lol ( not sure where the hamster comes into all this though) it is usually a tetchy time trying to co-ordinate them all to go out at the same time, i am glad I leave much earlier

anyhow peace is restored and the kitchen is back to normal
not sure what we are having for tea yet, cant decide

just got some brocoli and stilton soup yellow stickered from £2.69 each to £1 so thats xmas day starter sorted :D

    Afternoon all,

Damp, dull but very mild day here...was in airport at 6.50 this am with Japanese friend who is taking her almost one year old daughter to meet her family...13 hours from Amsterdam, wouldn't be keen on my own with a baby!

DD2 went shopping this am and baby slept the whole time she was gone, so not much bother to mind.

Mudgekin...hugs and shoulders should you need them

Taplady, be thinking of you to-morrow.

Roast of beef in oven for dinner, carrots and potatoes....very original

Hugs to all in need or want

I did mean to post earlier, a lot earlier, but I got sidetracked....so what else is new  .....does'nt take much really, I see a book or a photo album when I am tidying up, and thats me out of it for an hour at least ;)

Well what a day, I just havent stopped, put SC on and this time chopped all veg and apples (no not together) in my new toy,so its beef stew and apple crumble for Dinner,
made up the other bed for DGD2, changed our bed, did 3 loads of washing, vacuumed everywhere, thumped the life out of all pillows and shook the duvets till my arms felt like they were falling off, mopped all hard floors, cleaned bathroom, turfed out and scrubbed utility room, I've had enough now, but must make the Hob-Nobs I promised OH. Mind you he did offer to make them himself  can you imagine what the kitchen would look like when he had finished....I shudder to think

WBSybil - I used to read Terry Pratchett all the time when I went to work on the bus, got so engrossed once I missed my stop:o I seem to remember Nanny Ogg kept her loose change up the leg of her drawers, and she jingled when she walked, or was that Granny Weatherwax??? I loved their adventures,Lords and Ladies and Witches Abroad were 2 of my favourites.

    :santa2: Good afternoon/evening!

I didn't expect to be on the pc at this time, was expecting to be round at DD2's looking after DGS (he has tonsillitis) so his Mum could collect his little sister from nursery but she needed to pop out for a few bits anyway so will collect DGD on the way home. I presume one of the staff will hand DGD over at the door! Poor DGS, the doc was going to prescribe Erythromycin but DD asked for something else as Erythromycin makes him very sick, so he's got Penicillin, which makes him hyperactive  His temp has stayed down since yesterday evening though, so that's one good thing. Other DGS (15yo) is also on penicillin, he's had a very bad cough and the doc said his bronchial tubes are infected. She also said she's seen over a hundred patients with the same cough in the past week

betheebee - what a lovely sister you are! I do hope you manage to get some "me time" at some point over Christmas!

JackieO - Hope you got to Bluewater okay and were able to get some oilcloth.

taplady - Will be thinking of you tomorrow. ((HUGS))

Hester - Glad the Slumpie was so tasty! Thanks for finding the recipe online, LameWolf. I shall have to try that!

We had bought a new kettle for DD1 and DSIL for Christmas as theirs was in a bit of a state with limescale. They had bought a new one twice, but the new ones both blew up  DD rang last night to ask if they could have the kettle a bit early, as the "old faithful" one had now blown up as well  If this new one does the same they will tell the Council their wiring needs checking! I think it was rewired before they moved in a couple of years ago.

So much sad news and illness about atm! Huge ((((HUGS)))) to all who need them.

I'd been feeling very "un-festive" myself lately, then yesterday I heard that one of my friends and her husband had been nursing a neighbour with advanced Parkinson's because his wife, who cared for him full time, had been taken to hospital with a heart attack. My friend and her DH looked after him between them 24/7 until his son and DIL managed to get there (the son and DIL had 'flu so couldn't come at once.) :A Anyway, it made me realise how much goodness and kindness there is around, in spite of all the bad news. :) They are trying to find the old man a place in a nursing home as he's really too ill to be cared for at home now, even if his wife was well enough.

Tonight's dinner - probably steak pie (not HM I fear :o ). Last night I made the last of Sunday's chicken into a curry, and there was plenty left over to freeze for another time.

I was thinking of the turkey crown we've ordered from the butcher. It's meant to be about 2.5 kg, which seems an awful lot even though I did say I wanted enough for 6 servings. I'm hoping the weight includes the bones (I don't think I specified that I wanted a boned one:rolleyes: ) or we'll be eating turkey until Easter...... or mid-January at any rate!

Well, bestter go and put the next washload in.

    Best wishes

    ivyleaf xx:snow_grin
