    Good morning all!

Mudgekin- hugs to you and your oh xxx

Beth - hope you enjoy your early Christmas, what a lovely thing to do for your brother, any time you feel in need of another sibling then just let me know!

N9eav - hope the tablets work well enough so that you can enjoy your party.

Taplady - I hope that things go well tomorrow. It's always the small things, like checking your phone, that bring home how big a hole is left when you lose someone, lots of hugs to you and Lesley's family.

Well it's very mild here today as well. All the children are still poorly, dd1 seems to have thrown off the sickness bug quickly but still has a dreadful cold, dd3 is full of cold, and ds and dd2 are just sleeping most of the time or being sick! I'm grateful that I've only got the cold that's doing the rounds, I'd rather have the runny nose, aches and hacking cough than this sick bug.

OS wise will be cleaning and tidying today, and some more baking, will also have to whip up some more mango chutney, had more requests! Have some whole milk that was reduced to pennies, so will make some dulce de leche I think, should be fine in the freezer, well I hope so anyway!

Other than that I shall be trying to get some sleep, working and sick kids and not feeling great aren't a recipe for feeling well rested lol! It's our village's Carols in the Barn tonight, it's lovely and I don't really want to miss it, a local choir sings, a brass band plays and there's mulled wine, bbq food and mince pies. I'm sure that a good dose of daynurse will keep me going though, doubt any of the kids will make it which is a shame, but I will hopefully get to pop down the road for half an hour.

Have good days all, hugs to poorlies and those having tough times xx

  • Morning Chums,
and to all those who fell poorly or worried:grouphug: this is a great place to come if you need support, as we all try to help each other in the good or bad times.
Today is Bluewater day, and I shall be off a little bit earlier than planned, as I thought I would get the shopping that I have to get and lock it up in the boot, then meet my pal at lunchtime and i haven't got to drag bags of stuff about. We are having lunch then going to see 'The Changling'
Will go and have a shufi in Lakeland at the remoska's and in John Lewis' for some oil cloth. My DD has tried ordinary plastic cloths for the table for her little boys but they go through them too quickly oilcloth seems to last the longest .Where my brother lives in France the local market do it for about £2.50 a metre and its really thick .I know it will cost more over here but its what she needs to protect her table from four messy little boys.
I also have to buy some big ribbon as she wants me to decorate her little boy Mikey's bike that they have bought him Its his first 'proper bike and its sitting in bright red splendour in my spare room. He will go crackers when he sees it as he has no idea that its what he's getting.I'm nearly as excited as he will be. My cold has 'dried' up quite a bit and I'm feeling slightly more human than I did on Monday.Right time for a big bowl of porridge to warm my cockles then I'm off to the madness of Bluewater .Take care all and have a good day .

Not much else O/S planned, got the SWorker coming later for a care assessment so need to blitz a pathway of sorts through to the lounge :o
DS3's lego set arrived last night at 8.30 via parcelforce and had nowhere to stash it so it spent the night at the bottom of our bed..:rotfl: actually IN it.
Hope everyone has a great day

MORning all, those bugs don't seem to realise we simply don't want them this time of year, do they?

Good news yesterday, DH got £185 tax back from last year. All helps!

Today will be something economical to eat, wanting to get through all bits and pieces left in the fridge before Christmas. Do you think chorizo would be OK in a quiche? Have pastry in freezer and lots of eggs need using up, onions and peppers areound, also remainder of the cream that I have bought for making some truffles for Xmas. Seems like a good solution, though I'm not biggest fan of chorizo. I could make individual ones, then there would be some to freeze for lunchboxes and lone dinners.

Got to deliver cards and cookies to students in work today and coffee at a friend (so I can sew her GS cub badges on...she doesn't sew!) then on with the Christmas cooking to take with us to parents' house for the big event, All very OS.

Hope you all have a productive day.

Have you thought about Florist's ribbon, will be cheaper than the dressmaking sort. Perhaps your florist would sell you a few metres, or there's a floristry dept at Hobby craft that would probably have it. Dressmaking types of ribbon at John Lewis are fiendishly expensive and some branches only have big rolls, not by the metre.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just popped in to send ((((Hugs))) to Mudgekin

Also (((hugs))) to Taplady for tomorrow

Sorry to rush in and out but must go walk Penny and then off to post off some parcels and keep a friend company on a shopping trip (so glad I have everything (well almost) in now). I am just going to make sure she stops for a cuppa and something to eat as she is still getting over flu - 2 weeks now and still a tad wobbly!

MUDGEKIN, I also want to echo all other posters by saying we are here for you. I have had so much care and support from friends here in my hours of need.

DH has just got up with a raging temp and raw throat, so don't think I will get much help today.
