  • One member od household get higher rate DLA, different member gets IS with disability premium - is that 1 or 2 CWP?
As far as i`m aware there is only 1 cwp per household

fizzel, the way I read it you should be getting it....

You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support or income-based Jobseeker's Allowance and have a child under five or get one of the following:
    • a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
    • a disability premium or severe disability premium
    • a disabled child premium
    • Child Tax Credit that includes an individual element for a child or qualifying young person who is disabled or severely disabled

OK, so despite having a child under 5 you've not been getting IS

But I assume you get the disabled premium on your Tax Credits? The important word here seems to be the 'or' in 'or get one of the following'

I recieved my first ever dwp cwp today. Didnt know what it was or that it even existed until today! Found it by checking my account online, no letter or anything to let me know i was gonna get one. But i'm well happy that i got £25. I'm in the milton keynes area Buckinghamshire.
You`ll probably get the letter in 3 or 4 days time

    Hello

I live alone and receive working tax credit with the disability premium. Does anybody know whether I would qualify for the CWP? I can't seem to find the information anywhere and I can't get through to the tax credits office.

    Thanks!

WTC doesn't appear to qualify, you have to be in receipt of CTC with the disability premium in place for the child/young person.

I read that another way. You need to be receiving income support/income-based jobseekers allowance and have a child under 5 or receive income support/income-based jobseekers allowance and one of the other premiums listed. I could be wrong though!

My friend gets Child Tax Credit with the disabled premium for her son but she doesn't get the cold weather payment because she doesn't also get income support.
