Cold weather payment
Comments

That list is which postcodes are allocated to each weather station, not only those that have been triggered. For instance, the weather station which covers my postcode (Dyce) is on that list, but I won't receive a payment as it wasn't on the list of stations that have been triggered.
I see, it seem they have just made it confusing for people.
All you really need is a list of poscodes to check, anything else is just an
unnecesary waste, it just over complicates it.0 -
whoops poor brain fog , the money is not CWP , sorry to everyone , but gets very confusing some times on here . bit mixed and matched  soooooooooorrythe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

For those living in East Sussex, the weather station seems to be Herstmonceux. The postcodes it covers are BN7-8, BN20-24, BN26-27, TN21, TN31-40 It seem to have been triggered once.
I phoned my local Job Centre Plus who said the payments hadn't been sent out yet. She said it will be in the next 10 - 15 days.
Please don't take all this as gospel, it's what I've found out so far (with the help of wonderful MSE-ers) and I think it's a 'wait and see' game now!
Edited to say that apparently just because a weather station has been triggered, it doesn't mean all the postcodes it covers have been triggered!! No, I don't understand any of it either.....0 -

If we all email our own MPs, and they protest. surely something will have to change???
I will let you know when (if) I get a reply.....
I have had a reply emailed to me today:
"Many thanks.
I have already criticised this absurd situation in the local press. It
is wholly unacceptable that my constituents, whether elderly or
disabled, will not receive cold weather payments simply because of where
the relevant readings are taken elsewhere in Sussex. I am writing to
the relevant Minister asking for an explanation."
Let's hope something comes of his questions........0 -

Wow- if people in Sussex and LE4 seem to be having problems, then I am not even going to look any further: I live in London. It was very cold here- I did have the heating on (normally I cannot afford to do this) in the hope I would get some help with affording it via the DWP. It appears not...0
