I called Dwp this morning and a payment was triggered over the weekend for my area(Alsager) so how long does it take for payment to get into Bank accounts after a payment has been Triggered?

What worried me was that the woman i chatted to could not see a payment on my file!!!!

it depends how many people are entitled and if you get income support with a disability premium or have a child under 5 or are on pension credit

If anyone wishes to know if their postcode is in a specific area, here's the link to the measuring stations:

Northern Ireland is not listed anywhere on that page. Does that mean we do not get Cold Weather Payments?

I'm long term sick, live alone (widow), 55yrs old and on income support, because a previous employer didnt pay my NI contributions so can't get incapacity benefit, so I only get £56 a week to live on (they stop £4 a week as I get £4 a week private pension). I can't get DLA as they say as I dont need someone to come in and get me out of bed, wash me and dress me, or cook meals for me I'm not entitled to it.

As I dont have a child under 5 living here, I'm not entitled to the cold weather payment, so I can't afford to heat my home now the weathers cold. I've contacted my MP and CAB and the benefits people, and I'm not entitled to any extra payment.

There's going to be a lot of people die this winter from hyperthermia, and I'll probably be one of them.

    This Government makes me sick!

I'm not the only single person in this situation, but the Govt isn't interested in helping if you don't have children and not over 60. It's a ridiculous system.

when you say long term sick is this longer than 12 months as your ammount of income support is only short term

WHat happens in cases where a household recieves income support and there is a disabled child and a severely disabled adult in the household (i.e. 2 premiums on top of the I.S.)? Is it ONE cold weather payment or two? (i.e. payment per person eligible or per household?)

    THANKS
