According to weather on news24 earlier it will be below freezing in most parts of the uk for the next 7 nights(and possibly as cold during the day),which should trigger another CWP0

If you have a child under 5 and get Income Support then you will get the cold weather payment, as you have a child who is 11 then you won't get it.Won 2010: Butlins 5 day Break and £250, 1 yr Virgin Active membership, Meal for 10 at Best Parties Ever, skyline 2011 dvd.

Is it only if the daytime temperature is below zero? If so what counts as "daytime" hours and how long during that time period must the temp be below zero?0

I phoned up income support and yes i will get it as my child is 11 or 5 does not matter what age the child is as long as you are on benefits, you only getg the paym ent thou if the weather is under a certain temp for 1 wk and over .
You may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each week of very cold weather in your area if you get Pension Credit.
You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support or income-based Jobseeker's Allowance and have a child under five or get one of the following:- a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
- a disability premium or severe disability premium
- a disabled child premium
- Child Tax Credit that includes an individual element for a child or qualifying young person who is disabled or severely disabled

I would get something in writing livelyred if you believe that you are entitled. In my experience the DWP website is much more reliable than those on the benefits helpline.
Edit: I have just checked the DMG, and Zara33's information is definitely correct.Gone ... or have I?0 -

I assumed everyone with a child under 5 got it but appears only does on income support and jsa with children under 5. Thats annoyed me, from our take home pay after we have paid rent and council tax we are left with LESS than those on benefits so why shouldnt we get the payment too?
That isn't really a question for this board. If you have a look in DT, or the House Prices and the Economy board, you will find more suitable threads.Gone ... or have I?0
