Hi Lilo:hello:
I sympathise with you and OH over his cholesterol problem. I have the genetic type too and it's a real pain because I carefully watch what I eat anyway and take more exercise than most of my friends and family yet my cholesterol is still way too high:eek: . Statins didn't agree with me either so I'm relying on doing other things instead. I wish Benecol and Flora were available on prescription, the cost of them certainly messes up my frugal grocery budget!0 -
It's a good question Andromache, one I had to ask him myself last night!
If he did get the Sierra Leone one, it would be all expenses paid which means he'd have savings left either for us to do another placement later in the year when I'm free from my commitments or just travel somewhere.

Bails - the same thing happened to me the other week, only it wasnt just me who got soaked it was my 2yr old too. It was a lady driver too which annoyed me more and she just laughed, wound her window down and said sorry never saw you then drove off:mad:
So much for my nsd. I've just placed an order with AprOved fOOd for £13.51. Ordered loads of soup and beans (24 tins of each) plus raisins for ds and chewing gum for me and a few other bits too. I've never used them before but heard them mentioned a few times on here so i assume they are good. Not sure how long it will take for stuff to arrive as the site said they were still sorting back orders, but i'm not in a hurry for it.
Cant believe i nearly bought the same soup on offer 4 tins for £2 from tesco too and i thought that was good.
Also i've ordered my billows. For anyone that doesnt know what they are, they are fitness shoes. I got a pair of fitflops last summer for my birthday and they are really comfy and they DO actually tone your legs (i was a bit sceptical).Anyhoo they launched a winter range called billows. They are boots instead and are meant to reeeaaallllllly comfy. I managed to find a pair for £50 instead of the usual £65-£88. Even better i only had to pay £1 for them as my old cc was £49 in credit:D. Cant wait till they arrive.£387.39/£196.46

bails major brownie points for your calm in very trying situation. I will send a demon to visit your neighbour....I know some good spells

I have converted a friend of mine to Frugaldom.
I bought her a terramundi instead of flowers when she was so good after DH died and she loved it so much (and saves in it) that she got a piggy bank for her son.
He emptied it yesterday as he is going on a school trip and he had £98 :T
He is so impressed he wants another one.
Frugaldom rules :j
It is snowing here...no mention of it on the news though and life is continuing as normal
I am debating about whether to go out or clean another cupboard.
I have already built a mini snowman...bit sad on your own but he looks happy enough. One slight problem is that he is a polka-dot snowman.
I forgot about the sheep who lived in my garden last week and left little presents all over the grass which I gathered up in my snowballs :rotfl:
Bet he's original.
But will have no friends when the sun comes out and things heat up a bit

Hello!
It seems that this week I spend more time and energy when trying to get to work than actually working. This morning the road to the nursery was closed as it was too dangerous, so had to go long way and it wasn't brilliant either so it was slow going, then there were no P&R busses and then to top it all the long term car park was closed. So managed to get to work one and quarter hours late and had to leave early to pick up my car from short term car park before I got fined. Hey ho. Just need to pack one book and venture out to see if the road that was closed in the morning is safe now so that I can get to pick up my client dog and go walking.
Bails - that is just awful!
Waiving bye as need to get going again...

I still haven't been out and built anything in the snow yet - I'm too cold from my soaking now but will have a go tomorrow if the snow's still here (as my pupil is still too ill to teach). I'm going to need to work out a policy for my time as working with ill children means a lot of extra time with the parents, supporting them too - anyone got any experience of this and how to manage it please?
Which reminds me, I'm going to check out local tutoring charges to see what my hourly rate could be.
Drive safely Marru, hope work are okay with your struggles. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

   to your p i g of a neighbour bails, how rude!!! I'm glad I don't stay next to him, you'll get your own back, what goes around, comes around. You take care and stay warm. xx0

Hm, back from researching tutoring rates quite disappointed - people seem to be really cheap!
It doesn't seem quite right to be honest so if anyone has any recent experience of rates etc I'd really appreciate a PM please. If it is accurate then my plan to go back to work next year will be severely hindered as I won't be able to earn enough with the energy I've got to survive
