Aaaaaargh, talk about falling off the waggon in so many ways
Was stressed about seeing ex OH this evening, he was a bit grotty to me when he turned up, so I went and spent (grrrrr) money in A$da on reduced naughty food (double grrrr) and have binged somewhat (triple grrr). Will add up my spends in a mo...
Then quadruple grrr, I asked him for more maintenance and did he have this month's and he told me he's being taken to court by one of an unspecified number of creditors who want £200/month from him, and might apply for bankruptcy.
Looks like I'm going to be really skint from now on....rather than moderately, which makes my spending money on carp in the shop even more stupid! Feeling so miserable now
Must get more on track tomorrow, am definitely going to leave my purse at home so I can't be tempted by anything other than the newspaper.0 -
Can I join in the challenge even if it is 6 days into the start of the challenge? I'm wanting to manage on £4000 + Child Benefit.0

sophiesmum have you checked the rules of your allotment? We are not allowed to dump stuff and if your allotment is not deemed tidy enough you get a warning letter and could lose your deposit if you ignore it. You might be able to speak to a committee member and ask for their help in getting the problem sorted.0

I use the Competitions forum here on MSE. There are absolutely LOADS listed every day and the friendly bunch over there even post the answers. You can put in as much or little time as you want but it's obviously very hit and miss as to whether you will win or not. I have been fairly lucky and won a fair few bits (although the Ipod is my best yet). Others report amazing successes on the 'I won' board. To even it out I should imagine that some people never get the chance to report a win - just down to luck!

Does anyone know if you can freeze hoummous?
I think you can not 100% sure, but my philosophy is to try it and if it comes out bad you've not lost anything as it would have ended up being thrown away anyway!Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £160.79 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -

wow wow wow. Folks from the end of the 2008 challege may recall my built in oven died 2 days before xmas. I've just been given one in excellent condition on freecycle. Can't believe it. Collected it this evening and it is now installed. Hoping a local small appliance shop may offer something for old one for parts, at least just take it away. As an added bonus it is white, not stainless steel so much easier to keep the outside clean.
Kiitkins - learning the frugal way takes time, and this is just a small hiccup for very understandable reasons:grouphug: . Are you hoping to move locally?
Glad you got the notebook bails, and glad you raised the whole subject as I am def thinking about felt covered books for next year xmas pressies. Plenty of time to experiment with shrinking charity shop jumpers:D .
We had a delicious sauasge & bean casserole from slow cooker for dinner as well Nyk.
ISOM - I put return dates for library in my diary and also renew online if not able to get in. You can also phone and renew here.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
"if you have any poo, fling it now.." ooh, not that madagascar!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
