thanks CW. Im assuming I do have a heating system with HWC. There should be no reason my water supply would be cut off. Hmm unsure what to do now....November NSD's - 70

I don't know Jamie - I think I'd be assuming frozen pipes too but I'd be on the phone to the HA's emergency repairs number - one benefit of being with them.Wendy x0

And when it is because of a burst mains, when it first comes back it's really horrid and murky from the soil etc that's got into the pipes. This means we have to run the taps for a while to clean it -- but they don't/won't credit us with anything on our water bill to cover the extra useage due to this (we've been metered since moving down here)
ETA: There should be an emergency number for your water authority in the phone book. Ours puts a recorded message when there's a problem. If there's no message, then once a few people have been in touch they're likely to come out and check the area. I assume you've checked your other cold taps? Is your toilet cistern filling after a flush?Cheryl0 -

thanks Jd, your post made me check my taps thankfully there ok, but it looks mega cold out this morning, can you phone the water board and ask them? i wouldnt a clue what to do with things like that as ive never had to deal with them iykwim

Keep coming back and venting your feelings on here. It's only the beginning of the year so things will get better.
At the moment you probably need the health giving properties of goodies and particularly chocolate0
