I would love to donate blood Sarah but am not allowed because of my illness - I guess it's because they don't know the cause of it so won't take the risk. I'm hoping to one day though, as before I was ill I wasn't allowed because I'd been in Africa too much!
Was browsing the links from the programme (no useful info on where to go ) and came across this which might interest some of you. Wonder how he's getting on?
I know what you're saying about the pre-arranged things but it wasn't a programme about how to survive as a homeless person, it was about highlighting ways to access free things. It means Freecycle will get a big boost so that's always good! I'm a member of the couchsurfing site BTW so if anyone evers wants a bed in Bath...Ignore me i'm a ratbag today:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

phew got em all! First day back in w*** and it dragged somewhat plus my body requested a snooze at 4pm...I am also a fully paid up member of the stationary addiction group - paperchase is a dream but I darent enter!! Did manage to only spend £5 in total for a shiny new 2009 diary which will double up as a spending diary plus a tamper proof tax disc holder for the car and that was it. Resisted toast run this am and whs which is my nemesis...hopeless with books, mags, stationary and wine...books and mags banned for 6 months (but have been canny and arranged swaps for beautiful cook books in work!!) but wondering whether I am going to allow myself a paper once a week for the tv...although will try for now online but I keep missing things I actually want to see!! Was very proud of myself with the remains of the chicken carcus...my granny would be proud...not a scrap of meat was wasted and puss cats got the fatty bits...good for coats!
Shaz what were you doing crafty? Have my craft group on sat which am looking forward to - cheap n cheerful and we do all sorts while chatting, eating cake and drinking tea! Anyway off to watch thriller on itv...hugs those that need them...slightly confused why nyk proud of sf...did she teach her the piano?!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Glad you had a good first day at work Sarah. It was my first day too, it took until 4pm before my phone worked and I still don't have access to the parts of the server I need to get to to actually do any work. Still, looks like it will be a fun new job :-)
I've not been around for a few days as had a last minute trip to Islay to meet Bf's parents. Left on Friday, slept in the car Friday night, 7am ferry to the island on Saturday. Then travelling back all day yesterday, I felt pretty shattered today. I ought to be in salsa dance classes now but too tired, and my room is in chaos! I'm wondering if it's even worth me tidying as possibly will move into new house on Friday, if my solicitor gets the final paperwork bits in time!
I've also had a mega expensive few days and have spent nearly £200 of my £1000 for the month... and that's without having the house and bills and things
Edit: my new year resolutions for savings are...
1. £1100 mortgage overpayments (£100 per month from Feb)
2. £900 cash ISA payments (£100 per month from April)
3. £600 share ISA (£50 per month from now)
That should use up all my spare money each month...Live on £11k in 20110 -
croak, bit of a duvet day for me, accelerated by white wings confession she ate ALL the profiteroles before Janey could get them to me. Such cruelty when I am in such need:D .
Redglass - lol at freecycler: have passed that on to friends who have similar views to ours.
fizzel - you mentioned yesterday about free school dinners and having to over come your pride. Perhaps you could look at the bigger picture: you are doing a great job bringing up 3 boys on your own and one day they are going to be contributing to society because of the great job you're doing. So think of all the taxes they'll be paying when they are adults which will more than cover a little help now getting school lunches. You are also doing a good job getting your finances in order:T .
masomnia - great sig, made me laugh
mollymunchkin - brilliant felt idea:T . NB Bails - perhaps buy the one you want and then practise with the home made version for presies, in your own pace?
Loobyloo - I love my non tartan shopping trolley I bought last year: makes such a difference and although a little embarrassed on its trial run, certainly not now.
2nd time - great thought for the day. - is this purple particularly difficult to read becasue I'll change it if it is?
Just cooked a huge crumble in remoska with apples we were given yesterday. Will freeze about 5 portions from that.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
