Hi all,
Well this is my official first day of being on the DMP and budgeting. Well, not really my first day of budgeting as I kept a spending diary last month to have a sneaky peak at what the budget would be like. So far so good. It is so nice to see a credit balance in my bank account rather than a negative which I never come out of!!!!!!
Sure the letters are going to start now, I had kept everything pretty much up to date until this piunt, but was starting to drown so decided to take action. Already had my letters from Barclays though saying that the amounts are not sufficient, oh well the accounts are just on the way to the inhouse DCA and will see how we go from there. Had an official termination notice for my Bank Account but not for the 2 x loans yet! Halifax and Next have accepted though.
Some may have read my post on Friday, thought I was going to have a nervous break down because of my stupid employer. Had written confirmation from payroll that my Bank Details had been changed and then go online Friday and low an behold money has gone into my old account:eek: Was so angry, especially as they said the BACS payment has been rejected which is just carp as I have been making BACS payments from paypal the last few weeks and it has all been fine. Anyway, after two phone calls to Barclays (a nasty man and then a nice man who I think thought I might cry down the phone, I was close to it!) they agreed it was exceptional circumstances and transferred the money into my new cashcard account.
I too am staying with Barclays just as it's easier to pay my mortgage and secured loan, also with Barclays. But have a Natwest account also which I'm going to start using for housekeeping ect.
So, thats where I'm at. Hope things are going ok for my fellow DMPers and as my signature says I can now be in control of achieving our dream:T

Good Evening!
I cant see what harm it can do. I tried something similar in long running battle with a DCA, but it never budged them. They did eventually agree to my terms when I issued a CCA request though, even though they insist that they have a valid credit agreement!
I see you have sent off all your CCA requests today. Wait until you get any sort of reply from that before sending it off, as you'll have a better idea of where you stand with them.
Anyway, being defaulted and passed to a DCA isn't a bad thing. They will probably accept the repayments. But remember, they CANT sell the debt on to a third party if they default on your CCA request!
If they do, the ball is firmly in your court!
Cocker:)
Oo thanks for that :T
I cant ask for the CCA with them (Hitachi Capital) .. because I only got the agreement (sofa) last hmm July? .. and Im sure they have it.. mind you.. I suppose its worth a 'request' .. just the same.

Yaaayy well done! .. you are doing really well..
Phewwwweee! about your wages! ... I'm a little concerned thats about to happen to me. I'm about to get paid any time now (ever the same time each month ) .. and much as I have notified my employer ( and doubled checked) .. that it WILL go into my new account. I'm still a bit worried it will go into my old one. (My payroll people are dummies!) :rotfl:
So I keep checking my banking to see if I can see where my wages have gone.. which reminds me.. I havent checked my old account today.
I havent told my 'old account' (with a masssssive OD owing) .. about my DMP yet. (They are the only ones who dont know) .. because I thought IF my employers mess up.. I may still have a chace to nab it back! .. (hopefully)

I have noticed each day.. how much more back to my 'old self' I am becoming.
All this debt malarky has been spinning in my mind for the last few years and pretty much over ridden everything else.. So even when I was smiling and laughing.. inside I was still going.. 'omg omg omg omg' ...
I notice this last few days.. when I have a quiet moment.. my mind is blissfully EMPTY.
(and not just coz I am a blondie):rotfl:
It's been soooooooo nice!.. As I keep saying. I just don't feel scared of it all any more.. and prepared to fight. :TVery proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

:rotfl::rotfl: Yep!!.. that was it! Thats exactly what I would do..
gaawwwd.. honestly.. I could kick my OWN backside now..:rolleyes:
haha! We live and learn..
I remember the days of paying for everyone on CC then getting the cash. It was great.
Being on a DMP and budgeting has been pretty good for me as most of my friends are also skint, or have a house to worry about, and are all generally settling down. Nights out are pretty much limited to the odd cinema trip (Saw Drag Me to Hell tonight - 'twas fun), the odd gig, and pop down my local every now and again to catch up with acquaintances.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Yeah .. most of my friends are like that too (thankfully!)
I actually keep myself to myself quite often.. so I don't really pay too much out on being 'social' really.. well, now anyway..
Mind you .. I think some of that was because for the last 12mths I've been to scared to spend much money at all.. I think freaking out about my debt has made me a bit of a hermit.
Which is hard to believe if you knew me :rotfl:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I'm afraid it was. Mostly from my two A/Cs (with Overdrafts) who refused to stop charges for about 6-8 months. Rather frustrating...but hayho, I think I may actually be back at where I was when I started.

Are you going to claim back charges?
I'm planning to do that further down the line (if I still can then) ..
Theres not point in me doing it yet as there arent many on them really.. I'm sure they are going to slap plenty on in the future.. so I may as well wait..
Looks like you might get a big fat whack of moola back if you claimed!Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09
