oh god Eupho - my sentiments exactly!!!!

was having a good old sort out of all the debt paperwork - all put in files etc & then had a read through the booklet from debt helpline - i KNOW i'm going to have defaults & possibly even ccj's  on my credit file - but as i am NEVER going to have credit again (not that i can get it anyway) whats the worst that will happen? i have to think like this otherwise i would end up in that chair 'rocking away' !

hope everyone has good days today - the sun is glorious here in essex!!

    sas

    Thats exactly me too.
For now, I don't give a monkeys WHAT ends up on my credit file. It's not something I ever intend to 'use' again. (well.. for the foreseeable future anyway) ...

So whatever ends up on it.. Whether I go to court on paper.. or in person..(or not at all) I DONT CARE .. I'll 'walk my talk' ..
I did the crime.. and have to face the time.. ;) haha.
I just want to get myself back out of this mess. Once I get myself out of this (in the VERY distant) future.. DebtsVille is a place I NEVER intend visiting again.. (totally overpriced! and the food is pants!) haha...

it's BEAUTIFUL down in Sunny ole Cornwall today too! :T

No, you can still reclaim all credit card charges.

You can still try to reclaim bank charges using the financial hardship rules. All cases are judges seperately. Being on a DMP is a good sign of financial hardship though!

    Cocker:)

haha yeah!.. bit of a clue isn't it.

Hi all, how are we on this beautiful day?

A quick question for you. Has anyone actually accepted a F&F, to settle an account. And if so, have any of the other creditors grumbled about preferential treatment for the F&F'd creditor?

    Any comments gratefully received!

    Ian

ANY comments? .. okay.. haha ;)
I haven't got anywhere near this point yet..
But as far as I'm concerned (with my still limited knowledge so far) .. haha!

If Anyone offers me (or eventually.. I offer) any F&Fs.. If I/They accept.. then the rest can wait their turn!.. I'm doing that I can.. and I will get around to them eventually. :rotfl:

I'm not sure how much trouble I would get in with the others.. but what more can I do?
I will tell them.. 'Look... now that creditor has gone.. I have more to pay yoooo'

Hi fellow members : )Just popping in to say hi, still lurking in the background, this thread is al ife saver for many of us by the sounds of things! just waiting for the letters to start piling up on the door step now! has anyone got any hints and tips for not having a nervous breakdown in the mean time! I'm dreading the next few months, coming on here is my only saviour x

    Helloooooo Cleomolly

I've only been doing this about a month now.. (my own DMP) .. well, about 6 weeks.. and everything is STILL all up in the air.. Letters are flying about all over the place.

I spent the first years of my 'Debt building' .. throwing money about all over the place.. in 2005.. I came here.. joined.. Read A LOT.. freaked out.. and went away again. (IDIOT!!!!).. Then.. when my debts got even higher (about 15 grand then) .. I came back AGAIN.. (in 2007).. I called Payplan.. they said I didnt have enough surplus.. But that I could do it myself.... I didnt. .. I freaked out (again!) and Instead got a loan from HSBC to try to cover all my cards. (BIG MISTAKE!)

Anyway.. here I am again.. 2009 (haha!) This time DOING it.. Doing what I should have done in 2005.. and even in 2007 when it was 'only' 15 grand.

I have spent the last 2 years .. with an underlying 'terrified' feeling. 24 hrs a day!!
Worrying about my debt had become my 'everything' .. totally ruling my life. (and stupid ME! created it!)

Well not any more!.. I'm dismantling now!

I'm absolutely determined to get myself out of the mess *I* created, and I will take on the chin whatever is coming. Because I cannot!.. let this rule my life any more.

Now, on the days when I get no post.. I'm a bit gutted .. (haha!).. I WANT something more to happen.. I want to know what they will say next.. so that *I* know what to ask (here, haha!) and DO next.

I want to get on the right path OUT of this..(however long it takes) So the faster this flurry of letters happens.. then the faster I can get moving in the right direction with whatever comes next.

I'm am trying to see this as a 'challenge' a 'task' a 'project' .. Something that there is no point me moping about over.. because I'm going to be in it for a lonnngggg time. So I may as well shut up whining.. and do ALL I can to pull it back on the right path.

It will all calm down for you too.. honestly.. a few weeks ago I was a (complete) jibbering wreck.

Remember: read and read and read (on the forums).. and ask lots!

Do not be bullied.. and try not to get freaked out over letters.. it IS going to happen.
Just read it.. breeeeeeeeeathe.. and come here. ;)

Ermm.. sorry to talk so long.. haha! I think I was 'typing out loud' :rotfl::o

Hi sorry not posted for ages was away last week (nothing glamorous, week in a tent!) but huge fun!
Anyway, paid money to CCCS today via the post office (1st one) and sent off rest of token payments as most payments weren't due until beginning of June anyway.
I can't stop looking in my bank account and love seeing a CR balance!!
I feel quite calm and prepared now, and least all paperwork done which seemed to take ages.

Hope everyone else is doing ok :D

    Helloooo Crafty

    YAY!! Well Done! ..

its a nice feeling seeing your account with some money in isnt it! I thought that yesterday too!.. :T

(till all my 'good' DDs came out.. I went food shopping.. and filled the car).. :rotfl:

Now I am on a tiiiiiiight budget for the next few days till I get paid.

BUT!.. after I get paid.. and now I can see how I have to budget.. this coming month should be okay.. YAY!

    Hi cleomolly

i also have to say this site is also my lifesaver! but to stop the 'breakdown' - i find it best to work things through - don't ignore letters - phone calls are easier - if you have caller ID you don't have to answer them -but having said that - once you do talk to them - its a weight off your mind.

i make a list each week (i'm sad like that) of all the 'financial' things i have to do - don't tackel everything at once - you will have a headache & a sleepless night - not worth it.

we all know how serious debt problems are -but i think the most importnat thing is we are dealing with them!!!

as Eupho's signature says -' proud to be dealing with my debts'

    sas

Definitely! Doing those things DOES help..:T

    WOOOHOO!! :T :rotfl:

    Thats GREAT Leese!!

Sorry to take so long to reply I was blabbering.. (surprise surprise)

Such a good feeling to be moving in the RIGHT direction at least.. isnt it! :T

Yep!.. I am one creditor down! :T

    But! :rotfl:

It was my own stupid error.. Originally.. I had thought my Morgan Stanley CC.. and Barclaycard Cash Card.. were two different debts!.. (I have thought that all along!)..

But.. I found out today.. that they are the SAME debt.
I no longer have a Morgan Stanley.. Because it got taken over by the Barclaycard Cash card. (i just didn't open half the post back then)

So that was a bonus!.. I'm already one creditor down.. and £400 less.. in debt than I thought.. :rotfl:

    Hi
Does anyone think that Natwest Bank would downgrade my account so the monlthy charge for the bank account will be no more? Or would they refuse as it is in the DMP now?
Anyone had experience in this? I am guessing they will probably say no,but worth a try eh?
    Thank you
