panicsetin wrote: »Hi,
I know creditors deal with individuals differently but my experience of M&S was fine - they accepted my DMP straight away (said not to worry these things sometimes can't be helped). I don't recall reading many (any?) negative comments on M&S so I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised when you call then later.....
PSI x
thanks psi:A
they were 'ok' - a bit rude to be honest -like when i refused to give my mobile number (its also for work) & also when i said i couldn't pay anything until payday - she seemed almost triumphant in saying ''they can't freeze interest until default stage''
still its done now and they have said they will wait for cccs. so thank u for your reply.
anyway - have a q for my fellow dmpers.....
have still to send off paperwork to cccs & on my dmp was 30k of hsbc debt which has now been taken over by a mla (you all know i work for hsbc & had to do mla for thier debt otherwise could have been facing disciplinary)
wil cccs take off the hsbc debt & deal with the reamaining creditors?? - still have £320 to offer between 6 and i think its doable.
i know i'll have to phone them - but am dealing with one 'debt' thing a day! honestly - - have a list of debt 'jobs' to deal with & am ticking them off as i go along - makes me feel better anyway!:D
thanks
sasMassive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)
will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

Hiya everyone.
Newlywed..sorry to hear your sad news (((())))
Hope your all doing ok?
Please stay strong the first year is the hardest, as you have to get used to your new budget get all the creditors onside deal with the phone calls ect ect.
The phone call part will become `fun` as the months past, i now have no problems picking up the phone and ringing them if i have a problem with anything as being on the dmp for so long has enpowered me, i know when they are talking rubbish which is 99% of the time, i know what they can and cant threaten me with and now take great joy in telling them so!!!
In started this journey with just over 25k worth of debt...now 3 years and 4 months on i `only` owe 11k !! With the help of getting back my bank charges and credit card charges and the dmp i have paid back more in that time than i ever though i could, my quailty of life is so much better, we have had a hoilday in the uk every year since starting the dmp, xmas and b/days are no longer a worry, and iv done all this with hubby on a rubbish min wages and 4 kids in tow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So to all you just getting started...hang on in there, im proof that things do get a hell of alot better.
Take care Donna

haha yes they do!
Also... last night on the phone with HSBC.. I had this longgggg ole convo with the lady. About DMP .. Payplan.. SOA.. etc etc.
Then!.. right near the end of the call she says .. have I thought of getting in touch with someone like CCCS?
HELLO?!... have you been listening??? :rotfl:
I've had this exact same thing! You tell them you're sorting things out with CCCS, so you're paying all you can, but they advise you to sort your debts out by contacting CCCS!Twitter: @haddockman830 -

Hi,
Quick question,I have had a few creditors send me letters (no phone calls as I changed my house number before I started DMP and wiped all contact details from others on line) They have said that the accounts will be formaly defaulted and terminated-which is nice since they dont receive first payments from pay plan till next week(they dont mess about do they) what does this mean? will they be passed onto a collection agency?
I know that it will show on my credit report as defaulted, but once I clear them it will come off, right?
Also would like to say a big thank you to all on this site,it has been a great help to me and gave me the confidence to start DMP-glad I found this site before I decided to go on a fee paying DMP :T0 -

Edited to add:
Anyone wanting to know the right answer.. dont waste your time reading this.. Read Newlyweds answer below.. haha
Pleeeeeeeease don't hold me to this, because I am still learning myself. But I thought I would throw my two pence in till someone else shows up.
From my understanding.. getting passed to a DCA is often the best thing.. because interest is USUALLY frozen and charges stopped then.. often smaller payments accepted too. ( I THINK!!) ... Though for some companies.. they have something in the terms and cons about 'third party' interest or something.. and some can still keep charging interest. (I THINK!!)..
and.. (I THINK) .. once you default.. its not taken off your credit file once you have paid it off.. its there for a LONG time.
That maybe not be 100% right.. ^ but its a long the right lines (I THINK! :rotfl:) till someone else shows up and tells you better.
