Capital One.. A reply to my letter/offer/token payment.

It's actually (so far) very 'kind and polite' ..

Thanking me for my letter.. that they understand it may be a difficult time. How they are happy to help me 'explore an appropriate solution to my current debt problems'

Thanks me for sending an SOA.. and that.. 'All we need now is' a photocopy of the benefits I receive and 'how much and how frequently'. Also. a copy of one wage slip. (within the last 3 mths) aaand.. a 'copy of one bank statement showing income and general living expenses'.. (to ONLY send copies) ... That they have included a prepaid envelope for my 'convenience' (they havent.. haha.. but hey ho)

I know we don't HAVE to send those things.. but.. I Saw CCCS Matthew say if you were happy to do that that was fine. .. As (so far) Capital One are seeming to be helpful I think I am going to send those things. (not saying I would do that for all of them tho)

Also.. they say that they need to info back within 7days to 'enable' them to 'help me'
and.. that until they receive them I will continue to receive any due fees and interest on my account. Therefore I should 'act promptly'

The wording is all pretty friendly though.. (so far) :rotfl:

Nice letter, sounds positive and looks like they're going to help you. yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I should have known it was all going too well. :(

Just getting used to my DMP budget, 2 months in all going well, managed to save £175 in emergency by saving costs here and there and major budgeting. Felt quite good not to have overdraft and credit cards to be tempted by (they're still there, just part of DMP!). Boiler has ground to a holt and will cost (wait for it) £400 to repair  - electrician (trusted bloke, have used him before) is charging me the absolute minimum, so I know it's as low as I can get it....

Bang goes all my emergency fund, plus groceries/entertainment etc etc until end of June.... except for a measly £17.... Gonna be a long month.... Am looking at the O/S recipies on the other forum, E-bayand carboot sales to raise cash, and considering a family loan - would have to be paid back the following month though, not in installments, so would have to claw it back over the next few months and the cycle continues. Grrrr..... Sorry to moan, DFW gang. Just wanted to get it off my chest!!!
    Thanks for listening

Hi devon girl, you know in an emergency you can contact CCCS/payplan and ask to make a one off reduced payment.

I did it for my MOT costs after being on the DMP a year and no-one complained. Not sure if that's because I was on it so long before I did it.

But ring your DMP company and ask for their advice ;)

    Afternoon all

some good news on here for some of us - looking at the list of 'nice' creditors has given me a bit of a lift - have had tons of missed calls from M&S money (cc 8k) but then today a letter arrived 'thanking me for my letter' (the cccs standard one offering token pymnt & i gave them £20) but insisting i call them immediatley as they will not correspond other than by phone!

so tonight as soon as i get in a going to call them - from everybodys experiance - will this be a 'demand money' type call?? ( at a stage where 1 payment missed & am waiting to see if cccs are going to take on my creditors miunus my hsbc bank debt (loooong story - basically i work for hsbc can't put them on the dmp)

don't know why but i feel really scared!!! i know probaly going to get a lot worse - maybe cos m&s are the first to contact me - i'll probably be a right tough old bird in a few months!!:rotfl:

    sas
    Massive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)

will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

Daaaamnn.. thats a biggy DG

Do you know the guy well enough to come to some sort of arrangement with him? .. for example.. If he has to order it and put it on an account thats not going to have to be paid for a month or so.. maybe you could pay him for HIS time.. and pay for the boiler in two parts? .. something like that. maybe.

Time for a MASS Ebay/Car booty attack. (for me too!)
I'm dreading my cars MOT soon.. I knowww it needs a new windscreen for a start. (got smacked by a stone last week.. and too big for 'repair') and its £100 excess on my insurance.

But I definitely agree with Newlywed.. Get in touch and tell them whats happened.. There MUST be things in place for situ's like like this.
and I have read about people paying less for one payment month when things have come up.. so they CAN do it.
