    hiya all

i keep coming back to see how things are and wish you all good luck

but for me personally a year on,,,and i shudder to think how did i take the abuse of the phone calls for such a long time - i totally understand your frustrations

im glad i was presented with another option on the cag site telling me about truecall this is a device that you can block calls etc,

i love it - its so peaceful now and i can also see who has been calling on the log

i just feel for you all because the calls are non stop, and whilst i did do the harrassment letters, they were really not looked at really but they attempted more calls in the day,,,,, i made complaints to the creditors head office s and still they came back they can make a certain amount of calls etc

so in the end for my sanity and that of my family, i bought truecall and have not spoken with a creditor for at least 6 months now

anyway not trying to sell it to you but i wanted to show how i coped ,,,,

you all have to make up your own minds how you deal with it all

me - im now still challenging my creditors with their cca copies and boy it does show me some of them are really not that scary because i now know more of my rights. Ive accepted that my credit file is at the moment really bad but slowly and surely i will tackle each creditor and im not intending to have anything ever again on credit,,,,dont need to move, just need to avoid ccj's if i can due to having to inform my job, other than that

im learning the law and really diving into a lot of law books at the moment and yes im totally freaked by a court appearance but now ive helped a friend avoid house eviction with a lot of help from cag,,,,i know that i could present my own case within its own merits and offer good arguments

i just wanted to also assure you that whilst ive been threatened with all sorts it aint happened yet,,,, but i did try last year to offer pro rata payments but the creditors really didnt help, and the constant calls just was the straw that broke the camels back,,,,thus i guess im just fighting back and seeing who is going to blink first,,,,Poker,,,now may be my next pursuit,,,lol

keep cheerful and i do keep looking at the national debtline site for other info to learn from too

continue with high spirits,,,,and keep happy

    cheers maz:cool:

    Hi all,
Hope the plans are all going well!! Thought I'd give an update on mine:

MBNA loan - Have accepted reduced payments but I'm still having issues with the reinstated DD. The Ombudsman is looking into this.

MBNA CC - Accepted reduced payments, not charging interest so this debt is currently going down nicely.

Halifax CC - Not charging interest but are still charging repayment cover, despite me asking 3 times to remove it!!!!!
Halifax OD - Not charging interest. Debt going down.

    And now the total b*****rs
Sainsbury's CC - Charging interest and overlimit fees like its going out of fashion!!

NastyWest loan - Refused DMP. Adding monthly interest that surpasses what I'm paying :(

    NastyWest OD - See above.

NastyWest CC - Have not received statement in 2 months, though I have received a default letter.

Nastywest also sent a letter today demanding that I send my debit card back to them or they can send an "Agent" round to collect it and I'll be charged 125 quid for the pleasure. Errrrr.....on advice of CCCS it was placed in the shredder in January!!!!!
Oh and what does the letter have at the bottom??.....A list of debt help agencies.
*ding* goes the irony bell!!!! ;)

As a matter of interest what creditors do people have on here and which ones have accepted your reduced payments, mine are:

    Virginmoney ( MBNA )
    Northern rock
    Halifax
    Natwest
    Citicard
    Littlewoods
    HSBC x 4

Don't know yet whether they have accepted my DIY DMP as letters only just been sent off. Sorry if I have missed any off, there are so many

ooh, just spotted this and had to add mine if it helps anyone?

I have 2 the same as yours - Littlewoods and NatWest. I've heard diddly squat from Littlewoods so I assume they've accepted, and NatWest rang me at 8.15 yesterday  but I got rather cross with them and they suddenly 'found' the details of my DMP on the system... it seems they are 'liasing' with Kensington at the moment so what they are going to say I have no idea (I could actually pay them off but they're being such so and so's with me they are going to get the 8 pound odd that they've been offered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
    I also have.....
    Ambrose Wilson
    Brilliant Gift Shop
    FashionWorld
    Shoe Tailor
    Simply Be
Viva La Diva catalogues - all accepted without question.
GE Money (Evans card) heard nothing from them so I assume accepted
Think everything seems to be going well.... third payment is due out Friday. I took 1 debt off there (an old store card with Lowell, they didnt want to accept the payment plan so I hassled them for an F&F and that's going to be cleared tomorrow. Another debt with them - an old HSBC account - will be cleared end of next month - yay!!)Now I just have to pay the overlimit amount on my CitiCard -

Hey everyone, just checking in to see how everyones doing, guess there's not many knocking about tonight, what with the footie being on.

Interesting to read the earlier post from Maz, I'm in the middle of CCA requests with several of my creditors, Marbles have started to be really difficult since they were taken over by BOS, basically I have gone back to the start with them, they refuse to accept I've been paying this account as part of my DMP since last Oct, and have started to add interest and charges again, nearly £200 this month:eek:.
Considering they're only getting 30 odd quid a month it's ridiculous.
So far they've not come up with the necessary documents so I'm hoping this will give me good bargaining power to getting the interest stopped again.
Anyway keep up the good work everyone.

In my personal experience, Northern Rock Personal Loans were ok about accepting a much reduced payment. After about 6 months they started to hassle for an increased payment. I eventually (and yes, without telling CCCS) entered into another direct debit with them for a little bit more. I was in a position to do so and frankly, despite breaking the terms, it got them off my back!

I also had a N.R credit card, but VERY fortunately, the good people at the Co-op took the N.R credit card group over and they were very reasonable as you would expect of such an ethical company.

Barclaycard were so-so - a few phone calls from India now and then. They wouldn't compromise on a settlement when the time came (Co-op did)

GE capital accepted but sold on to another company after no time. They didn't hassle me, but it looked worse on the file!

Black Horse / Capital One were fine - frankly, they had lent me money when I was massively in debt and falling behind, how could they NOT be?!

All in all, it was better than I anticipated. Best of luck - the time will fly by!
