After 10-15 calls from HSBC (per day! for the last 11days)..
They JUST sent me a text now too.
saying 'Please call HSBC on.. blah blah blah'
Maybe they have hit their limit of 150 in a little over a week??:rolleyes:
Anyway.. I think I MIGHT pick up next time they call.. More because I want a reply about my 'offers' to them (loan and CC) .. and am getting fed up waiting for a (good or bad) reply. :rolleyes:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I had so much hope when I first started the DMP - now I'm starting to feel like my creditors never want me to be free of them. All I want is to pay back what I owe them, all they want is to squeeze as much interest out of me as possible. We were planning to start a family soon (I'm really not getting any younger... I don't want to leave it too late) but that would mean cutting payments to creditors while I would be on maternity leave. My partner is self employed and since the credit crunch his earnings have fallen through the floor. I don't want to be an old lady and say I never had children because my creditors took priority...I'm not sure whether to tough it out and keep hoping things will get better, or whether I should go down another route, I'm even considering bankruptcy.
I hope everything is going better for other people on the DMP path at the moment. Sorry for the moan! None of my friends or family really know what its like to be in this position, but I know plenty of people on this forum are in the same unhappy boat as me.
Hello Darling.. :rotfl:
How about sending them something like this.. You'd need to tweak it to customise it to you.
Dear Sir / Madam ,
Re ACCOUNT NUMBER:
Thank you for your letter of xx/xx/xx concerning the above account. I/We am/are sorry that you feel unable to suspend interest charges on the above account.
The majority of our other creditors have agreed to the offer of payment and agreed to suspend any interest charges still accruing. They have accepted that to continue to charge interest would not assist in my/our present financial difficulties, and can only serve to increase my/our total debt.
As you are aware, I/we have already paid considerable sums in interest to our account. If interest charges continue, the monthly instalments I/we are paying will not even cover that interest. Also the co-operation of my/our other creditors who have agreed to freeze interest already would be put at risk.
I/We would therefore be grateful if you would reconsider your decision not to freeze the interest. This would mean that the monthly payments I/we make would actually reduce the balance outstanding to your company.
I/We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours Sincerely

I haven't had any letters from my creditors to say if they were accepting my DMP with CCCS, I've had to phone each of them to find out, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, they were all helpful and polite.
Out of your list I've got Egg as well, they sent a standard default letter and then an account terminated letter a few weeks later saying that it would be passed over to a DCA. Although since that letter I've now phoned their collections department and they said that they've received notification of my DMP and as I'm with CCCS they are accepting the DMP payments, the account won't be passed to a DCA after all and they will freeze interest from now on - so I'm just hoping that's all true. Hopefully it will be the same for you.
Good luck to all who are just starting out with a DMP
I have EGG too... thanks for that. :beer:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I have decided to switch my Land line back on!.. :: thunderous applause :::
I have had it (the ringer) turned off for 11days now.. and just have a quick listen after 9pm when I know HSBC have stopped calling.
I'm sick sick sick.. of waiting for replies.. I want to get this moving.. one way or the other.. _pale_
Sooo.. I'm turning it back on.. and my mobile OFF vibrate. Next time they call I'm picking UP!
I am thinking of phoning all the others now too (all 13 of them!)
Reading yesterday that it can take months for my letter to get to the right department has wound me up a bit... (actually, I think I have drunk too much coffee!)
I want to get this moving... and me not getting any replies.. and me not answering the phones .. is not getting me anywhere.
When I phone.. if I get someone crappy meany on the phone.. I will tell them one of the kids just fell over .. (they are teenagers haha!).. I have to go.. and will call back.. (when someone nicer answers!) ..
So.. thats my plan now.
I'm going to bust out the paperwork I typed up for them originally.. my SOA.. the letter I sent.. and the Payplan case reference number PP gave me.. (even tho I am not going with them and doing it myself)
Wish me luck!... _pale_
Oh!.. but first I have to charge up the Landline 'walkabout' phone.. because I just discovered it is flat as a pancake.
 by which time.. the coffee may have worn off.

Okaaaay..
After 11 days of HSBC ringing nonstop! (but none of the other 12 yet?) ..
I finally picked up!
It was the Loan department.. She was telling me that my account has no missed a payment and is now £174 behind..
Sooo.. I explained to her that I had written to HSBC 11days ago.. a letter explaining my circs .. my SOA .. a token payment.. and that I was now doing a DMP.
She was actually quite 'nice' about it all .. BUT!.. I am no further forward.. as there (so far) is no record on my loan files of the letter/DMP .. or anything other than it has missed one payment.:rolleyes:
So really.. a fat lot of good it did picking up the phone.
Now I am in two minds whether to call ANY of them.
OO! .. Barclays are on the phone to me now!

Goodluck Eupho!! I have honestly found they seem to ease off a little once you've talked to them! The only ones that still call me are for one of hubs accounts and I believe this is becasue he's never actually talked to them about it! they've had zero communication from him (apart from him cancelling his ppi but i don't think he mentioned the DMP). Going to get them to ring when he gets home and then hopefully it will stop! fingers crossed!
DMPDarling, that sounds like a nightmare! Are you going it alone or with Payplan or CCCS? if you're with either of them I'd give them a ring and see if they can do some negotiating for you! If not give that letter a try!
Also have you reclaimed any charges yet?? Because this might be a good time to do it and it might stop them charging from now on! (no guarantees but i think it can work out that way!) And trying to get all your Credit agreements from them too. If they don't have them then they may be more reasonable! Just a couple of thoughts! Hope you can get it sorted start thinking about starting a family!
I know how you feel! Altho i'm not ready yet I think if we do decide we want a family we're also going to have to start thinking about whilst still on DMP and I've no idea how this will work and am quite worried about it! Ideally we wouldn't even think about it til it's all sorted but i also am getting no younger. People do say however that if you wait to have enough money you will never do it! (I know however this is not quite as simple a thing to say to people in our situations. I certainly wouldn't want to bring a child into the mess we're in right now! We struggle to afford stuff for us let alone another person!)DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
