    Hi Eupho,

I am also doing my own DMP, i wanted to keep control of what I could spend as the DMP seems really rigid. All of mine accepted the small payments and no interest for 3-6months and then a review.

I did not have to deal with HSBC however, but egg, natwest, barclaycard, halifax, tesco, mbna etc were all ok with it. I have all my payments on standing order as direct debits were being taken at the wrong date leaving me overdrawn :(

Hope the letters come back ok, nice to know someone else is doing the same as me...its all very scary!

    Helloooo

    Thankyou for that..

It's good to know that I MAY have some luck with Egg. Barclaycard and Halifax.
    :: crosses fingers ::

I had a HEAP of post arrive today.. and I thought this is 'them' .. But it wasn't.. it was lotttts of letters saying my DD payments had failed. (yes.. because I emptied my account and moved my moola)

Anyway.. yep! It IS good to know of other people in a similar situation .. Being here has helped me not be crying on the floor on standing at the top of a cliff! (im joking ;)

But!.. seriously.. it soo good to know you are not alone isn't it. Phewwy!

Chancer, i would talk to CCCS if you are struggling with payments and they will go through the budget again. I left reducing my payments for far too long and this caused alot of stress and anxiety. I now pay 1.00 to creditors and so far it has been ok.

phew! it's good to know they accept so little.. some of mine (when I worked it out pro rata) ended up being a £1!....

End of this month is going to be very tight for us. My wages will be low as I don't get paid during school holidays, so will be two weeks down for Easter. We get paid a month in arrears. Car tax due also. Sons birthday.Really worried we won't have enough in the pot. The only way I can see round it is to ask CCCS for a reduction in payment this month. Has anyone done this and are they okay about it?
Going on a DMP has helped a lot but we still have no spare cash at the end of every month:eek: I get sick of worrying :(

Definitely call them! You have nothing to lose by calling and finding out where you stand.

It's nice to hear Natwest, Halifax and MBNA have all been ok with your DMP as these are the ones I were concerned about, myself and my husband owe:
    Natwest CC: £4200.00
    MBNA ( Virginmoney )CC £8500.00
    Halifax CC: £1900.00
    Halifax CC: £2000.00

Did they freeze interest for you? I am concerned about the Halifax though as only had the card's 7 month on interest free ( balance transfer ) worried they might think we have done a dirty on them - but to cut a long story short both myself and hubby have been laid off this year ( both got new jobs ) but have had to take between us both £20k pay cut

    Our other creditors are:
Hsbc loan - £11K ( i am waiting for the manged loan malarky )!
    NR loan - £7K
HSBC Gold card - £7K ( i am waiting for the manged loan malarky )!
HSBC Mastercard - £4500 k ( i am waiting for the manged loan malarky )!
    Citi card - £580.00
    littlewoods - £400.00

Probably forgot something there is that much!!! it's around 49K anyway. I feeling very nervous at the moment, waiting for it all to kick off but thanks to all you wonderful peeps i am well prepared. ;)

    Hi All,

I have had 2 letters from CCCS stating that MBNA (one CC with MBNA, one with A&L) have not accepted my DMP.:(

From what I can remember from other people's posts, this is not unusual.

Is it possible that they will come on board once they see a commitment to the DMP in a few months time?

    Helloo Leease

I am around the same stage as you too.. waiting for the 'kick off'

I just checked my on-line banking.. and see Barclaycard and Capital one have cashed my 'token payment' .. so hopefully I will be hearing something from them soon. those.. and ELEVEN more to go

Anyhoooo... I have a Loan (about £3500 now ~ tho £1500 is that stupid payment protection thing) .. and £2250 on a card with them.

I cancelled their (HSBC) direct debits about 2 weeks ago.. and as soon as the payment were due to go out (and didnt) .. they started calling.. In the last 4 ? days.. they have called me on two different numbers (maybe one is card and one loan?)... I swear! about 15 times per day!

I havent picked up the phone yet.. I want to wait until they HAVE read my letter. (I asked that they only correspond to me in writing) ..

This is a handy site if you dont already have it.. You just put the phone number in the box.. and it searches for who called you.

Hellooo.. .. I'm new at this too.. but I didn't want to 'read and run' haha.

I'm not sure myself yet how it all works.. but I'm sure I read to keep making your token payments.

and I found a letter template on here last night... can't find the blimmin thing now :wall: .. it was an idea of what to say if they refuse. I THINK it was on this thread further back.. hmmm.. or maybe the 'Doing your own DMP' thread.

haha.. well.. *I* wasn't much help was I

    Hi Eupho,

Welcome and thanks for replying. It's always nice to see another friendly face on here.:D

I've stopped my token payments as my DMP payment starts on the 1st June.
MBNAs refusal is of CCCS's proposed payment (which isn't reduced by much incidentally grr:mad:).

However, if I remember rightly, many folk have said that they got refusal letters initially and that some companies wait to see some commitment before accepting.

I hope they do. I'm going to give it 6 months and then I am going to start claims for all the charges anyway.

And I am like you.......I don't answer the phone either...:rotfl:

Hmmm.. I didn't know I could claim charges too.. Old charges? Or charges I might get from now? .. or just any?..

Does it affect the DMP you think?

    questions questions questions.. :rotfl:
