    Hi Eupho,

I'm with HSBC, so I'll just let you know my experiences so far to reassure you a bit and let you know where to go next...

Pretty much as soon as DD was due and they didn't receive it I was getting up to 15 calls a day for a month (thankfully I'd changed to my mobile no only so I left it on silent and didn't answer the ones I sussed as the Indian call centre) ....within a couple of weeks of receiving my letter they sent me a letter offering me a managed loan but as they're still charging interest on it etc I checked with CCCS and they advised not to accept it as its new credit etc and they're nothing but problems apparently!

Thankfully once they received my first DMP payment they stopped calling, however I've had a couple of missed calls today and having typed them into whocallsme? they've come up as HSBC!!

On a positive note however, I have a CC with them too, and that department has accepted my DMP and have reduced interest to 6% rather than 21.9% for an initial period of 6 months.

So its not all bad, the calls will stop....just stand firm and you'll be fine! x

    Thankyooo for that :)

I've had the HSBC overseas call centre call me 6 times a day for the last few weeks. I did actually answer one of their calls last week. Bless them, I know that English may not be their first language but they said "is Miss [DevonGirl] there", I said "Speaking", they said "No, I want Miss [DevonGirl]", I said "Speaking!" and they hung up as they obviously didn't understand!! :rotfl:

hahaha!.. I may try that :rotfl::T

Hi - no real news from me, but thought i would post!
I've been reading everybodies post and there seems to be plenty of us gearing up to start on the 1st June:D

Had a letter back from CCCS today with a quick question, but should all be sorted next week.

OH gets paid Friday into new account for first time, and will be sending creditor letters off next week with token payments.

this seems like the calm before the storm...also a bit panicky about living within the budget, to be fair it's a good budget but been so long since not had credit to fall back on it seems scary - don't want to run out of money after 2 weeks! I'm sure most people feel like this to begin with, and I am determind so should be fine - got spreadsheets and the lot!

I was worried to start with, but I've been doing it for a couple of months now and I've had money left in my account both times!

Once you get used to it, you'll be fine....remember at least this time the money is going on things other than your minimum payments :D

    Good luck! xx

    Hi
Hubbie in debt after closing his business, looking at a DMP with CCCS to clear some of the debts (Tax & Vat being done direct).

Majority of debt to suppliers, with one having 55% of total. Got appointment with CCCS with not til 29th Jun, and until then been told to make token payments to the creditors.

I'm trying to draft a letter & payment to them, hubbie has £200 free when he gets paid next week (£500 has to go to tax office) and we want to write to the creditors involved and explain situ & make the token payment offer.

Because of the supplier we owe the most to, the smaller amounts we owe to would only get £1.27 of the £200. Do you have to do it strictly pro-rata ? or can you lower the amount to the big one and make min payments of £10 to the smaller debts ?

This will be done for at least two months probably until we get the DMP (if that's the way we go).

Concerned that if we did up the payments so it wasnt strictly pro-rata that when the CCCS payments start they'll throw a fit because they get the "real" figure i.e. £1.27

Also in the token payment letter we send out do we mention the Tax debts - because they having to take priority, but we're paying what we can on top to make a start on the non-priority ?

Lastly do we have to put our home address on the letters, getting mail redirected from old company address for a few months and purely selfishly I want to distance these debts from the house. Its in my name, I pay all the bills and none of the debts have anything to do with me. Just concerned that if the creditors get idea they can come after the house & me. So want to keep the home address out of it for as long as poss, certainly until DMP is up & running and everyones calmed down and accepted they'll get paid, albeit slower than theyd like.

Is this possible ? otherwise I'm tempted to put his mother's address on the letters, as this is where he used to live before he moved in with me 6 months ago.

    Thanks for your help

    Helloo everyone :)

I have finally (!!) sent out all 13  of my letters.. sent recorded delivery (poor lady in the post office :o)

    and await the replies.. eeeeek!..

HSBC have been calling me.. but I doubt they would get my letter until maybe today. (because I have now missed a DD)
They have been using two numbers to call me... 10-15 times per day!

I haven't picked up yet.. I want them to at least see my letter and reply... so I know roughly where we go next. I am scared of the HSBC reaction to me doing my own DMP.. especially after I have read about them not being very helpful..

    Hi Eupho,

I am also doing my own DMP, i wanted to keep control of what I could spend as the DMP seems really rigid. All of mine accepted the small payments and no interest for 3-6months and then a review.

I did not have to deal with HSBC however, but egg, natwest, barclaycard, halifax, tesco, mbna etc were all ok with it. I have all my payments on standing order as direct debits were being taken at the wrong date leaving me overdrawn :(

Hope the letters come back ok, nice to know someone else is doing the same as me...its all very scary!

I am in the early stages of arranging a DMP with CCCS, just waiting for my pack.
Us too - we owe 42K, were getting slowly more and more mired in just scrabbling around to pay debts, stupidly nearly went with Gregory Pennington (sooo glad to have read this forum first!!) but now we can actually see a way out. We know it'll be a shift in lifestyle and everything, but we're actually sleeping nights now and the acid indigestion has started easing a bit. So thanks to everyone who's posted and continues to post on here - it's a great, great comfort to read. Knowing you're not alone and that nothing's truly hopeless is one hell of a lift!

End of this month is going to be very tight for us. My wages will be low as I don't get paid during school holidays, so will be two weeks down for Easter. We get paid a month in arrears. Car tax due also. Sons birthday.Really worried we won't have enough in the pot. The only way I can see round it is to ask CCCS for a reduction in payment this month. Has anyone done this and are they okay about it?
Going on a DMP has helped a lot but we still have no spare cash at the end of every month:eek: I get sick of worrying :(

Chancer, i would talk to CCCS if you are struggling with payments and they will go through the budget again. I left reducing my payments for far too long and this caused alot of stress and anxiety. I now pay 1.00 to creditors and so far it has been ok.
