i received a letter from halifax yesterday accepting my pro rate offer of £113.12 and suspending interest and charges (am hoping by suspending they mean stopping) on a 12 month arrangement and then a review. they said as requested we are enclosing a dd mandate, good try, i asked for a standing order mandate!! but i rang them up and explained this error and they are now sending the so mandate. anyway pleased with myself this morning i thought i would send same letter and national debt line budget thing showing all proposed pro rata payments to people and hope for best. well half way through typing the post arrived and with it a letter from a debt collection agency on behalf of lloyds. well i contacted them and told them what the contents of the letter and budget i was about to send and she said they would accept the proposed £75.09 but they would not be able to stop interest only able to put me on a hardship rate of 5.9%. well only paying something similar rate anyway. told her that lloyds said 2 weeks ago they were stopping interest and further charges and putting me through to their consumer collections team who would contact me with proposed plan. she said if it went to them i would be black listed and not be able to get credit from anyone for between 6 and 8 years. i told her for one thing i didnt want any further credit and secondly as my other creditors were probably going to blacken my credit status anyway i didnt see the point of protecting it! she said we needed to stick to this plan for the moment as it was too soon to go through the consumer collection bit. i said i would go along with a dmp and gave her this month on mum card but am regretting it now. however it is a 6 month plan with a review. she also said she saw my £2000 f and f and said as i owed almost £6k would have to offer at least half. anxious now to stop them screwing interest out of me i said i might be able to get the money and so they are putting it to them and will be in touch. am so mad about the interest not being stopped when i was told it was, did ask for letter of confirmation of this at the tome but never got one. once i had sorted out halifax yesterday i worked out that last year alone i paid £998 in interest alone and as the loan was not due to end until 2013 that would have been an awful lot in interest, so am relieved they have stopped it. just hoping they will do the same after their 12 month review. anyway sorry to drift back to lloyds i am getting the template letter ready that asks for re consideration about the interest but dont hold out hope as they have never answered any of my recorded delivery letters................sorry have gone on and hope its not too confusing but has anyone els had this with lloyds credit card???

Hi we have had no end of trouble with Llods TSB and our loan, I have lost count to the number of things. If I knew who to complain to I would document each one and hopefully that would cause them towipe my debt clean. I have complained to Lloyds themselves several times but it falls on deaf ears. The debt I now have relating to the loan is in fact their fault and the more I try to sort it out and come to an agreement the worse customer service gets!

Just wanted to let you know your not alone with your problems, especially where LTSB are concerned. Keep smiling :)

  • Hi I was hopng someone can help tell me what is best to do please.

I have recently done a Debt Remedy thing with CCCS, and its showing I have more going out than coming in each month. Anyway I have just printed off the letter they gave me for my creditors where I am offering £1 token payments. (I have missed the last statements minimm payment).

    My questions are

do I put in a copy of my Income & Expenditure sheet as done by CCCS and a copy of my creditor list (by CCCS) or just post the letter and £1 ?

    - Can do, no harm in doing so, also if you decide to go ahead with the CCCS they will send this information to your creditors with the proposed payment plan.

How do I pay the £1 by post or online transfer as I normally have paid online.

    - Pay them with a Post Order or cheque and include it in with your covering letter. (I sent cheques but most peeps prefer PO as your not giving creditors your new bank details).

Can I use the same letter and advice for my other creditors which are all loans?

    - Yes. I also sent four cheques & letters is the same envelope to one of my creditors who I had four accounts with

    Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks for the help, have a great weekend everyone!

    :D

Also have you changed your bank account to someone who is not associated with any of your debts as the may rifle your account to 'offset' your payments.

If you are starting a DMP with CCCS they will send your I&E to your creditors at a later date, just post letter and £1

I use postal orders, as I didn't want them to know bank details. The less they know the better. 50p charge on postal orders tho (£1.50)

Use the letter for ALL creditors

    Good luck

Hi Yes I have switched bank accounts for money coming in (which I have already reduced as muh as I can so far) but left all DD and bill payments going out of my 'old' account, I just make sure I go and put in the right amount of cash for each following week on the Friday before.

I haven't been offered a DMP or any further help by CCCS as I have more going out than I have coming in at the moment. So I am on my own from here.

£1.50 charge for Postal Orders? Are you meaning that would cost an extra £6 to pay 4 £1 tickets, or £1.50 for all 4 x £1 tickets?

    Thanks for replies so far

Hi guys i havnt posted in a while hope ur all doin good. I have just been trying to get on top of everythign and get all sorted. Think have finally did this any my first payment went out of my bank today to payplan. Does anyone know what happens next ie when they will receive the money and when they will pay it out? How do i know what each creditor will be getting cos on my justabank it simply lists their names and their balances.

And most importantly how do i know which companies accept? Do they write out to me seperately or do payplan let me know this. Sory for all questions just a bit confused.

    Thanks

    Hi all

Just spoken to CCCS to get my low start DMP finally properly set up. It will take me 25 YEARs to pay it off, gulp. However I hope to be able to increase our payment next year to start paying it off faster.

I have been getting myself into debt for years, it will be a relief to have taken action against it!

Tried to open a barclays account 2 weeks ago online but not heard yet. Anyone else had this?

Have you stopped all cc and loan dd's? I assume you have but if not you need to do this! is the bills account linked to any of the creditors? because if it is i think i'd be worried about keeping this account. i have a bills account too but it's unrelated to my creditors and i pay a SO from my main account to it the day after payday. the bills account used to be a joint account but hubs has an overdraft with his personal account of the same bank. so i took his name off. i have no idea if they could have taken money from it to put in his without my permission, but i was advised by PP not to risk it!

Louise, I'm with payplan and it seems to take about 5 dys to get to PP from my account, and then another 3-7 to get to the creditors.

You can keep track of it on justabank. there's a bit where it says about your payments to creditors. maybe you only get this when your first payment is gone, not sure.

as for acceptence, creditors vary. most (i think) send letters to you, but some to PP. and some don't send them straight away so it takes a while (up to 3 months from what i can tell) to get answers from them all.

I tended to phone and ask pp about the ones i'd not heard from. I think all mine have accepted now but i'm not sure, there was a least outstanding last time i asked.

Charlie, you're definitely doing the right thing! Well done!

    Helloo :)

I have my SOA ready for when PayPlan call me back tonight. (to start off the DMP)

I have already set up a Smile account (unattached to any of my debt.. ~ I hope haha!)

    My questions are:
When should I stop the CC & Loan Direct debits from my 'old' account? .. They are all about to start coming out now.. My wages are about to go in (next week) .. My 'old' account is up to the hilt on it's overdraft. (But once my wages and WFTC go in.. things WILL still be paid) ... I don't really want them too.. because I neeeed to get that money into my Smile (new) account.. to cover the 'good' (household etc) direct debits.

I don't whether to cancel the debt DDs now.. or wait to speak to Payplan tonight.

I also don't know when to move my wages.. and the 'good' (non debt) DDs.
I'm scared of the crossover between the two accounts (with switching the 'good' DDs)

How long does it take to get the DMP actually up and running? ..

Soreeeeeeee for all the dimwit questions. :(

 No I havent, I have been managing these as they are fixed monthly payments for loans so didnt even consider them even though they are classed as 'creditors' . How stupid am I  I was just looking at the Credit Cards first then moving onto the others step by step.

:o Back to square 1 is the only step I am taking. Thanks for raising this issue.
