Hellooooo everyone! I haven't been on for about a month but so many new faces - welcome one and all!!

I have just read with interest your recent posts EriBerri and we have EXACTLY the same problem with phonecalls. Sat am, Sun am, 9.30pm in the evening - they really don't care when they call! We rang and complained and were told that Halifax only call during office hrs and these people are not directly working for Halifax but are calling, on behalf of them??!!

We get periods in the month where they call and call but we refuse to give out security details so they don't get far. Last time they asked us just to confirm DOB and then she could talk to us - errrr, no! was my reply!!

I am now 18 weeks pg and time is flying! Just had our annual review and managed to increase payments by £9 p/m (every little helps!) but this will all change when baby comes along and my pay falls dramatically. Is anyone else pg whilst on a DMP??

To those getting phonecalls, if you can't change your number then either buy a cheap answering machine or if you are with BT use their free services like caller display and I think the answering service is about £1.50 a month. Well worth it for the peace of mind. Bad enough having letters through the door without the phone as well. Our answering machine is on most of the time and if you really want peace make sure you have a ringer "off" facility! They can still leave a message but you can't hear anything.
another thing that annoys me is that we all have the perfect right not to answer the phone or the door if we so choose:confused: NO MATTER WHO IT IS!
Just paid second payment to CCCS. Some creditors accepted but there are more that haven't. I suppose this is normal in the early months.
It makes me laugh that regardless of how we have found ourselves in this situation - all the banks and cc companies are acting like everything is still the same ie: no credit crunch! They have their heads well and truly stuck in the sand and it's high time the government dealt with them:mad:

Enjoy your bank holiday everyone. We are on a beans, eggs, pasta and anything else very cheap this week, menu :D

Hi i was pregnant but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage this week, even during this terrible time i have had phonecalls day and night, i feel like getting them done for harrassment.
Anyway we plan to get pregnant as soon as possible again and i will pay as much as possible foe the remainder of my working months then drop down when im on Maternity leave, that is the beauty of the DMP.

Most of my creditors are on board but GE capital just keep on phoning, i have a GE capital account for £150 but because i can pay them £5 a month they say its enough to cover my min payment and refuse to feeze interest and keep phoning wanting extra money!!! Any advice on this? should i offer them less?
vertbaudet and EGG have passed me on to debt collection agencies which suits me as they are easier to deal with.

Chancer, I have caller ID on my landline. And they call both my mobile and my landline. I have an answerphone that logs every single call made to my landline, whether they leave a message or not, so when I'm at work, I know if they've been making harassing calls. My mobile picks up the caller ID, and I've added this number to my reject list (though not sure how that works...!!). However, if I don't answer the calls, they will keep calling, and calling, and calling until I do answer. I understand that they don't count unanswered calls, but are only allowed to make 3 calls a day (I've read that somewhere in the last couple of days) - I think that may be company policy (joy!).

The thing that really pee'd me off about today's (that I answered) was the fact that she basically phoned to say that the calls would stop, but that I was scheduled a call at 2pm. And then when I asked why I was getting the calls, she hung up - that will be because the answer is: There is no reason for these calls. They are calls to harass you, and we know that we're in trouble for doing that. I requested that they remove my numbers from their database during the 8am phone call.

They will be receiving a letter to say that I consider their phone calls harassment and they will be requested to only deal with me in writing. If they wish to ignore that, I will complain to the OFT and the FSA. If they ignore that, I will sue them for harassment.

Skintlady, I'm sorry to hear of your loss  I'm on a DMP with CCCS, so I don't know what to suggest with GE. Send them the harassment letter though, it may get them off your back with the phone calls. I would only pay them what you can afford to pay them!

    Hiya

Yes, 13 weeks along and just started on a DMP. It means that of course pay will drop when baby is small, and then of course high nursery costs. Trying not to think to much about it and just take 1 day at a time!

i spoke too soon just got off phone with Lloyds TSB who despite letters confirming they will accept my payments are now denying all contact with me or the CCCS or my DMP, The person on the phone was so rude and unwilling to listen to me and basically accused me of lying that i ended up screaming down the phone at him!!!
Wish i had kept my cool but been under so much stress recently, i told him i was just out of hospital and unable to discuss it ratonally but he basically said my miscarriage was irrelevant!!! grrrrrrr! i emailed the CCCS and asked them to deal with Lloyds tsb on my behalf!

Skintlady, sometimes it is impossible to keep your cool - especially under those circumstances.:mad: Hugs to you. Evil, evil creditors for treating people like this.

Phone call number 3 today.......mobile again. Security questions and look at the reason for the call. She said she could see that I was on a DMP with CCCS. Told her there was no reason for the phone call, gave her a catalogue of events for this week and said that the calls were meant to stop. She said she'd put a stop on it. Told her that I would be sending a request in writing for the calls to stop, that I deemed it harassment and that I wanted both my numbers removed from the database. She said she'd see if she could get that done for me, thanked me and hung up.

It's so frustrating that they've started these calls on a Saturday, on a Bank Holiday weekend when there is nothing that I can do, in writing, about it! So I have to put up with these pointless phone calls all weekend and no-one will do anything about putting a stop on it!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
