Skintlady - so sorry to hear of your loss. I am glad that you feel confident enough to try again ASAP. Good luck and hope it happens for you quickly. I also plan to drop our DMP when on mat leave but it will a BIG drop as our mat pay is pretty awful and we have a big mortgage to fork out on each month.
We did plan to take a mg payment hol like with our first child but this has been refused due to the current market (i.e. our house is worth so much less and we haven't therefore got 80% LTV) It has been a massive blow and we are panicking but am sure we will find a way through it.
In comparison, our DMP is moving along nicely - we are well over a year into it and things have settled down (except the phone calls from Halifax.) We have the odd letter but that's it! Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0 -
Skintlady sorry for your loss.
I see the bank holiday weekend for an excuse to phone them. They're having to work on our day off, so I'll phone them up and mention it to them....DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
LOL! They saw it as an excuse to phone me, on my day off, at 8am  Only this time, I got the silent phone call treatment. Waiting for the next phone call now - I'm sure they're planning more today! Letters fired off and ready to send. I'm logging all of these calls and what is said ready for an OFT and FSA complaint.Smober since 05/12/2008 :j

Phone call no.2 of Bank Holiday Monday just received. I gave the young man (who sounded about 12!) a catalogue of events and said that I deemed it to be harassment. I told him it had ruined my whole weekend with the distress it caused as I spent a lot of time anticipating a phone call to go through the whole thing again, and again.
I was very polite. He said holds had been put on the calls but for some reason it had slipped through. I said that there was a surprising number of people who this happened to and really, Halifax should be careful considering they have been sued for harassment on more than one occasion. I requested my numbers to be removed, he said he would speak to his manager - I asked if he was going to hang up on me like the girl did yesterday and he said he wouldn't. Fair play to the lad, he didn't!
I got his first name and staff number. He is apparently passing my numbers to his manager to take out of the system. He said it takes up to midnight on the day that the hold request is put in - so I will get at least one more phone call. I laid it on pretty thick about the distress.
I will still send my letter requesting all phone calls to cease and for them to only deal in writing. I don't actually believe that this is it with the Halifax!!Smober since 05/12/2008 :j

Evening All,
Not posted on here much since getting my official number but at lose end before I go to bed so thought I would catch up on the thread!
Sorry to hear about your loss skintlady - that must be tough, and not at all helped by relentless phone callsI have only just started my DMP with CCCS and the only call I have had so far was from Halifax to my works number asking for a payment on my loan account! Foolishly I said a cheque was in the post
I'm rubbish on the phone, and too easily agree/say things I shouldn't - oh well. I've already sent them a letter saying I will only deal with them in writing. But I see quite a few of us are having trouble with them
I'm still waiting for my basic NatWest account to be opened. Sent all the stuff back over a week ago and heard nothing - getting desperate as I need to change where my wages get paid in the next couple of days!
As an aside to the constant phone calls things, I bought a little device called Truecall. Saw it mentioned on a thread in here somewhere, and I'm hoping it will be a life saver - it's already saved me from about 5 phone calls from Mori in the last 2 weeks (I don't know how many times I told them I wasn't interested in answering their survey - people just won't listen!).
Back to work tomorrow:j Hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend.Total Debt as of January 2010: £61,234

Hi,
Starting DMP with Payplan on 1st June, the payments I owed this month were token ones,I cancelled all D debits from my bank account and moved all priority ones to new bank account
Checked my old bank this morning and 2 of the d debits I cancelled were reinstated and a payment has been taken out leaving me well over drawn so I have a charge on the account aswell!!!
Can anyone let me know if they are allowed to do this,as far as I knew I am the only person that can reinstate D debits on my account!!! I knw I can claim charges back but will not do this yet as I am guessing there will be a lot more in the coming weeks!!!
Thank you0 -
I thought that once you cancelled a direct debit they couldn't reinstate it without another direct debit mandate!!!
Unless it was for a loan from the bank that owns your account, they could maybe take the money, although they didn't do this to me when i cancelled my loan direct debit!!
Im feeling much more positive today, apart from Lloyds TSB being amnesiac pratts!! most of my creditors are being quite reasonable, i told GE capital that due to emotional stress i would be unable to discuss things over the phone and they said they would stop phoning!!! So far so good!!!
Anyway its only money!!! i refuse to feel miserable about finances when there are so many more important things in life!!
Oh and jaybag just add the charges onto your DMP if they won't drop them and tell them to stick!!!proud to be facing debts of 16000k
will be debt free in 3 years 9 months:beer:
Nothing is too scary now!!!!!!

Hey Jaybag
Are either of the 2 d/ds that were reinstated debts for the same bank/building soc'y as the account? For example, account is Natwest and you have a personal loan with them too? I only say this because this has happened to other people on this thread.LBM - March 2009, DMP Start - April 2009

The 2 d debits that have been reinstated were for a Virgin loan and a abbey loan,(my bank is natwest),I called payplan and they advised me to call natwest ,so I did **gulp** first time I have spoken to any creditors since my DMP has started (ish),they asked me to confirm home numbers and work number before I spoke to them, and they were both wrong, didnt tell them though-saves me getting lots of calls-anyway,the guy at natwest was very helpful and said that they would stop the payments on any d debits in future, and recall the ones that have gone through today, and as soon as they have heard from payplan(which I know they have-probably different department) they will stop interest and charges for a while-went very well I think....0

Hi
Having got myself so confused since my initial attempts last week and now today I am feeling so down and wanting to hide I am turning to this board to get myself sorted.
Heres where I am at:
I have spoken to CCCS who coudnt help with a DMP as I dont have any surpless income, my income & expendsiture shows I have more going out than coming in before I even start with creditors! I have already made as much and as many cut backs as is possible right now and cant see muc of a change in the near future.
I began to write a letter to my Credit Cards (4) offering a token payment of £1 as thats all I could afford. Since that and my recent posts on this board I realised that I need to do the same with all my creditors at once rather than tackle them 1 at a time.
Missed my minimum monthly repayments on all 4 cards last month (April) and now heading for a new statement this month (May).
I havent done anything else other than avoid phonecalls which I have been doing now for about 3 - 4 weeks, due to the bank holiday weeked wouldnt have made much difference.
I was wondering if this new DRO brought in in April would actally help or even if I could apply for it what with hubby eing self employed (would it affect him / his business)? I am sure my debts are around the £15,000 figure.
Anyway can ou put me back on track please as I want to get thi sorted today (or by this weekend at latest) so I can at least tick 1 major task off the list and move on to dealing with PPI and bank charge reclaims.
ThanksFailure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!
