    How is everyone tonight?

I have noticed on my GUS statements that they are charging me £12 late payment fees  I had a refund not so long back so can't understand why they are still charging me  Being arsey thats what it is with the ppi reclaiming, I am sure of it you know.

They wrote back saying they cannot locate my CCA so letter in the post tomorrow to persuade them nicely to stop charging me £12 when my DMP payments are £10 otherwise will have to 'consider alternative solutions'

I haven't quite thought out what that is yet but I know I won't be paying into minus every month thats for sure.

That's a bit annoying when you get everyone paying ball. Hope you are well and are coping with your 'drip feed' of this thread... ;)

  • Good Evening Everyone

Still all quiet on the DMP front. Next have stopped phoning again so they must have recieved their payment from CCCS. It's a bit of of pain in the 1st month as you pay CCCS on the 1st and they don't pay your creditors until the 25th, which resulted in Next phoning us again as they wanted payment by the 18th. Don't know what they wanted as it's DH's account and he was never in when they called, but they've stopped.

Also for info RBS issued me with a termination of account notice and closed the account but are charging me interest and charges so yet again not all creditors seem to treat everyone the same.

I'm beginning to think these companies employ robot's instead of humans! I just wonder if some of the people who type these scare mongering letters are actually on a dmp themselves?? How ironic would that be.

I have said it many times already but I'll say it again... The government need to address the current debt management system and legislate for a product that effectively gives the debtor some legal protection whilst on a DMP. Even if this was a period of 'grace' for a minimum of 12 months, to allow the debtor to sort out alternative payment methods or sell their property, it would be better than nothing. The current 'try a dmp and hope for the best' situation is an awful worry and extra stress for those embarking upon it.

So come on Gordon Brown, stop making excuses and paying for your house furnishing, !!!!!! watching MP's at our expense and do something useful for this country.

Might be worth checking out for anyone having probs with Barclaycard? Look at the most recent few pages and the posts by a B'Card employee. I think it reinforces why you should NEVER speak to them on the phone - they really couldn't give a damn. Keep it all in writing and definitely log all their calls - (I had 2 in 4 minutes today)
(I hope this hasn't broken any guidelines but it made me REALLY angry)
    Hope all are well,

CornishMaid, thank you for posting that forum, I've just had a read and my blood is boiling! Although I must say your post: 'So if no-one had credit - you would have no job. Simples' was just fantastic, well done, these people need taken down a peg or two! :p

I have just started out with my DMP, filled in my letter to return to CCCS & about to send the initial letters to my creditors, informing them that I am setting up a DMP (all 9 of them!!) with £1 postal oders, should I sent these by recorded delivery or just regular post?
Also I have been getting 3 calls a day from Egg, have just been ignoring them, is that the right thing to do?
    Thanks

Struggling, debts still mounting due to interest & charges
  • I sent all mine by standard letter, but I think the majority have sent theirs recorded delivery. I couldn't justify the extra expsense and hassle of going to the post office (8 mile roundtrip).

Also I anserwed the phone, explained I'm entering a DMP with CCCS quoted my reference no but didn't get into any discussion wrt to payments etc. told them to contact CCCS if they had queries. After that the phone calls stopped quite quickly.

  • Hi All

Having a crap day today. Letting it all get on top of me. Have sent of CCCS stuff and will start DMP on 1st May. I was feeling really positive and I think it all just hit me this morning. Also got statements from EDF - owe £600 odd for gas and £200 odd for electric, despite paying £150 a month!

Sorry, just feeling sorry for myself and need a rant.
