Which bank did you set up with?

My forms came from CCCS about a week after doing the online remedy. The welcome pack came exactly a week after sending my forms off to them! This was at the end of March so quite recent. Why not call them if you are worried and have been waiting a while?DMP with PayplanDMP Support number 287Trying to lose lbs and save £££s!0 -
Still not had any response from any creditors - is this normal?
CCCS had a letter from Natwest saying they were rejecting it but because of "No Record of Account" so I was like yay I don't have to pay it back then! But then I noticed that one of the digits was wrong in the account number doh!
Vrgin Credit card have now blocked my online account so guessing they have received it. Problem is - I switched to paperless statements with them but now I cannot view them online so should I request that I go back to paperless? Otherwise I will have no way of checking what they are doing with the account except for calling the automated phone line for a balance?
CCCS suggested I could call my creditors to ask if they are accepting the DMP - do people normally do this? Not sure if I want to but the waiting is a bit weird!
We were in exactly the same position as you and had heard nothing other than the one creditor who had rejected. We have now phoned all creditors and have found out they're all happy to accept. It's put our mind at rest as we know what's going on and they were all absolutely fine and very helpful on the phone. So I'd say go for it and give them a call.0 -

I've only had contact from 2 so far....comedy HSBC bombarding me with an obscene amount of phone calls each day (apart from Sunday!) and Next to accept :j I've noticed a on my online log-ins that Halifax and Additions Direct (catalogue) must have received the information as they've amended my balance information here, however I've had no correspondence from them as yet.
Will play it by ear til CCCS have made first payments and then may consider ringing round to ask....just don't want to get into any complex discussions with creditors!:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

Good afternoon,
We have paid the first of many (erm many many) installments to Payplan and I was wondering how long it takes for them to make payments to the creditors as thus far nothing has been transacted.
On a different matter, a friend has coughed up to a financial mess (he owes 26K to 5 creditors) and has been informed by his employer that he is being taken off PAYE to self employed status. The employer owes him 1800 quid from the past 3 months so he has been missing payments to creditors and buried the evidence. As a semi skilled labourer he is reliant on the work generated by the employer.
Sunday gone we plugged his figures into Payplan website (based on 1200 p/m) and he is primed for the phone call. He has started missing rent and council tax payments so unemployment may be best option going forward.
Thought my situation was complex but this is messy......:eek:DMP # 280

Hi,
Our payment to Payplan leaves our account on the 3rd of the month, and doesn't usually show on their system until around the 9th/10th, and that's when they pay our credtors.
June 2010 - 11/56 lbs Weight to lose before May 2011.

Can anyone help with a letter I have received from barclays re my huge (2K) overdraft with them? I will send it to cccs but if anyone can help as I am a bit worried. I am typing a shortened version.
First thing is the balance on their letter is wrong and is less by about £500 - can I use this to my advantage in any way?
It says "whilst we have carefully considered this [offer of payment] your offer would not allow the debt to be repaid within an acceptable period of time. For that reason, we have no alternative but to send you a Termination Notice" so on. "your account will no longer be managed by ourselves and will be referred for recovery action. An agent appointed by the Bank will contact you directly to discuss your offer and repayment of your debt. If your circumstances have changed and you can now improve your offer, or suggest another means of payment, you should call.......this could help you to keep your banking relationship with us and avoid serious damage to your credit rating."
Is a Termination Notice the same as a default? In the leaflet they sent me it says that if they issue a default or a termination you have to pay the balance within ten days. What?? This is also under the heading "what may happen if you do not make and keep to an arrangement" hello? I am trying to set-up an arrangement with you through CCCS!!!!
What is an "agent"?
Why will they discuss my offer and repayment? CCCS have sent them the plan details and offer based on my budget - why do we need to discuss this further?!? Are they going to try and get me to increase? Surely they must know how cccs work and I cannot do that.
I am baffled by this as I have not used this account for over 12 months - I have only paid in £20 per month to cover the interest and it is permanently maxed!! I opened a seperate basic account and have just switched away from this. On my CCCS plan they will send them £50 a month which I actually thought was quite generous for an overdraft and as it is one of my smaller debts. Ok yes it will take a long time to repay at £50 a month but at the moment I am paying sweet fa off it so at least they will be getting it back!
When they say "another means of payment" what do they mean? Are they implying I should pay them in beans? Are they asking me to rob a rival bank to pay them back? I don't understand!
So glad I have already changed my accounts away from Barclays - I have banked with them for nearly 9 years and they have treated me like poo! I don't want to keep my banking relationship with them. Who gives out 2k overdrafts to people on (practically) minimum wage?!
I have a huge Barclaycard aswell oh joy are they going to be as co-operative?
Should I ask CCCS for advice before I do anything? Should I write to them and request that their secret agent contacts cccs?DMP with PayplanDMP Support number 287Trying to lose lbs and save £££s!0 -

Yes I have heard about HSBC so glad I avoided them they sound awful!
Good yes quite right they let you rest on sundays being the sabbath an all.
That sounds like a good idea waiting until after the 25th when the payment has gone so at least they can see that the plan is up and running. Guess I just have to wait and see for now...unless I get brave and call any!!DMP with PayplanDMP Support number 287Trying to lose lbs and save £££s!0 -

It's a pretty standard letter saying they won't accept your payment offer (normally they look to get it paid off in a few years). They will just terminate and close your account, then pass the debt on (either inhouse or sell it on) to a recovery agent and they will try and get their money back. Don't panic as this is all normal, and don't give them any extra money (on top of what you're already paying, that is)! Just remind them you're on a DMP and this is all you can pay.
Also, by terminating the account it normally allows them to stop charges and interest. Which is a good thing.
Start collecting them and see how many you get! Then come on here and look for swapsies. :rotfl:DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Didn't want to read and run but I think it means your account with the bank will be terminated and passed to a DCA who will then start up the process for recovery.
One positive is at least it will stop all interest and charges on the account
Don't worry the wording does seem pretty scary in the letters they send but it is just that, scary wording so you try to sell your wife/hubby/kids/dog/gran to get extra money to pay themDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
