Then definitely speak to Paplan, They hopefully will be ably to sort it for you, sooner the better because it p means that your payments to your other creditors will be reduced to allow payments to be made to these new debts.

Hello everyone, just managing to catch up after the weekend. All's quiet here too, no phone calls or letters, it's actually making me a little bit nervous! Is it the calm before the storm.....

I'm past caring, I'm trying to sort it out, they should respect that. It's not like I'm trying to get out of paying it back. :D

Do you have any money in the account they'll try and take the money from? If you do then move it elsewhere. Because they're trying to take money via a debit card and not a direct debit you won't get charged by the bank so there would be no need to tell them you've lost your card.

  • Anyone else find themselves frustrated at the beginning? Still no CCCS pack, still no new bank account, still not cancelled the direct debits to the cards as I'm scared until the bank account has been set up.

It's hard to remember it's taken more than 10 yrs to get into this mess and it'll take more than a few weeks to get out of it.....

    But gurrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah I got frustrated, it took a lot longer to get my new bank account set up and I'm still waiting on my CCCS pack but I just went ahead and cancelled all direct debits, I think you should probably do the same. The direct debits I needed to put on my new bank account, rent, council tax etc, I contacted them immediately to say I had cancelled their direct debits and could they send me out new forms to fill out as I would have new bank details. They were all fine with this and if I was due a payment I would either come pay cash or call and pay over the phone once I had received my new card. I'm pretty sure it'll get better.

  • How long have you been waiting on your CCCS pack? I was thinking of calling them or is there no point?

Which bank did you set up with?

    Hi Mags,
Are you talking about the initial welcome pack with the DMP notification and agreement papers?
If so, then mine came about 7 - 10 days after I had completed my debt remedy online.
I cancelled my DDs straight away. I think it did flare up a few calls and letters but I was prepared from reading here. So I've ignored the phone and the letters by and large. I have communicated my intention of dmp and sent 2 months worth of token payments with accompanying letters of explanation so they know what I am doing.
Posted off my letters and stuff to CCCS today - hurrah!!!

You could call them and remind them as it is an anxious time but try not to worry, it will come through.....

Quiet night on here, sorry no one has been around to answer you sooner....

I went with the HBOS easycash account because my partner's with them and makes it easier for quickly transfering money between our accounts if need be. So far no problems with them, except they took ages to set it up and send me a card.

I got my first pack from them with my client number at the beginning of march and I sent off my pack to them with all my creditors info about 2 weeks ago. I've had a call from them because they had a query about one of my debts so I'm pretty sure it won't be too much longer before I hear from them again. I have every faith in them so I'm not too worried, I suppose they are very busy. But if you're concerned at all just give them a call and I'm sure they'll put your mind at rest.

Not heard anything today and my payments for my 2 loans should have come out today...does this mean I am lucky and they are accepting my plan straight away or does it mean that it will take them a few days to realise the direct debit has been cancelled....?

I am assuming they will have received CCCS plan from them by now as they sent it on the 25th and I sent my personal notification forms to everyone on Monday. I know as these companies are so big though things probably take ages to get looked at.

My stomach lurches every time the phone rings I hate it!!!

Still not had any response from any creditors - is this normal?

CCCS had a letter from Natwest saying they were rejecting it but because of "No Record of Account" so I was like yay I don't have to pay it back then! But then I noticed that one of the digits was wrong in the account number doh!

Vrgin Credit card have now blocked my online account so guessing they have received it. Problem is - I switched to paperless statements with them but now I cannot view them online so should I request that I go back to paperless? Otherwise I will have no way of checking what they are doing with the account except for calling the automated phone line for a balance?

CCCS suggested I could call my creditors to ask if they are accepting the DMP - do people normally do this? Not sure if I want to but the waiting is a bit weird!
