If you intend to do a Dmp now your contracted phone would be part of the plan so the money for the contract would still be there. As to wether you would get the credit for this it depends who you've upset. You'd have to take your chances and get a copy of your credit file from experian or simular nearer the time.

why would her phone be part of the plan? if you mean DMP that is. I have been about to get a contract while on a DMP, once you have a contract they don't credit check you again

I thought is was through dividing amount so everyone got the % with regards to how much debt you have...not actually sure that makes sense to me..nevermind someone else!!

eg, if you have 1 creditor with 50% of your debt..they get 50% of your payment, well thats how mine seems to work anyway,

    payplan do it that way

    Hi all

Im in the process of starting a DMP with Payplan. I had my first phone interview yesturday morning and it went really well.

I have just shy of 30k of depts and would pay around £270 per month for 8 years compared to £660 that I do currently.

What is the next step? What statements or paperwork will I have to produce? Im assuming bank statements and so on but im not sure. Any help would be really appreciated.

I never had to give evidence of wages just told them who my creditors where and how much I though I owed them

    Hi Everyone

Taken me ages to catch up it has been busy on here, hope everyone is doing well. We start our DMP on 1st April through CCCS so i thought i would write and let you know how we have been getting on with our 17 (yes 17  )creditors!!

Barclaycard ccme - no response to DMP - no interest on March statement:j
Barclaycard cc OH - no response to DMP - no interest on March statement:j
Capital One cc Me - no response to DMP - no interest on March statement :j
Capital One cc OH - no response to DMP - still charging interest:mad:
La redoute catalogue - rejected DMP:mad:
    N/West Loan - rejected DMP:mad:
    N/West o/d - rejected DMP:mad:
N/West cc - rejected DMP 10 days ago - letter today to say accepted:j

    Kays Catalogue - rejected DMP:mad:

Halifax CC - no response to DMP - no interest on March statement:j

Virgin MBNA cc - no response to DMP - no interest on March statement:j

Grattan Catalogue - no response to DMP

Egg CC - no response to DMP - still charging interest

Egg loan - no response to DMP - still adding charges:mad:

Studio Catalogue me - no response to DMP

Studio catalogue OH - no response to DMP

Mint cc - no response to CCCS but letter to us accepting DMP:T

So there we go, i know that no interest doesnt automatically mean acceptance but its a step in the right direction. Phone calls were few and far between and i dont think we've had any for about 10 days (prob tempting fate now). Most of our creditors have issued defaults but only one has gone to DCA (without a default strangley enough:rolleyes: !)

Anyway thats where we're up to - have a good evening everyone.

That's quite an encouraging response msc, shame about the ones that haven't accepted but hopefully they will in time.

All my first token payments have been cashed and I have been getting LOTS of calls from Aegis and Barclaycard, some from RMA (who I think are A&L collectors) but I haven't heard anything from RBS, Next or Freemans.
Have received a letter today from Littlewoods asking me to call them as they would like to discuss my account.

    My question is:

I'm a real scaredy-cat and really don't feel able to talk to any of these people about this. I even did my debt remedy online to avoid a conversation :o .
As I included the letter informing each creditor about my impending DMP with my token payments, is that adequate communication at this stage?
I don't HAVE to talk to them do I?:o

    No, not at all!!!;)

CCCS are there to talk to your creditors on your behalf.

If you are really that nervous about speaking to creditors over the phone, send them all the "all communications in writing only" template letter.

They HAVE to comply with your request otherwise they are in breach of the OFT guidelines on debt collection.

No you dont, but if it helps at all i'm certain that our calls stopped as soon as they did because in most cases i answered the phone, refused to confirm DPA and referred them to my letter of xyz date and reiterated my CCCS ref number.

Personally i wouldnt call them, the only reason i proactively called any of my creditors was when Egg continued to call after requests not too - I threatened them with a further letter but this time of complaint and asked them to remove my number - they did (eventually) and i've heard nothing since:j . So long as they have your notification of DMP I wouldnt contact them. Also if you did request no telephone contact then i'd just reiterate this if any of them call...........just as a thought, i did most of my debt remedy on line but i felt so much better after talking to CCCS - i chewed the ear off some poor bloke at the start but do you know they werent judgemental, they werent like 'how did you get yourself into this state' it was simply 'you cant pay what you cant afford so lets get this sorted out' and do you know that in itself gave me the strength to start talking to our creditors.

    Good luck xx

    Thanks Cocker,
You don't happen to know where I can get a copy of that particular letter do you? I think I may send a copy of it with my April token payments along with my notification of dmp from cccs.

My old work dept has had a couple of calls for me and I think it may be RBS as am sure none of my other creditors have my work no. I don't think its been too frequent and I don't think these callers can identify what they are calling about (can they?). I can't check online what RBS have as my contact numbers as they dont have online cc services and I don't want to call them so a 'stop calling' letter would be ideal!!!!

Just a comment on Next Directory - I spoke to them last week and found them co-operative when I said I was going on a DMP with CCCS. They had called me after I made a reduced payment this month, I sent a letter and they send a letter back asking me to call so I did. He just asked for the details of the plan with CCCS which I don't really have yet and that was it. I just worry that this may have been to lull me into a false sense of security and they are currently contacting Derek Smeath (Confessions of a Shopaholic reference!) to come after me....

Nooo Barclaycard are one of my creditors - do they hassle??

Why do your creditors call after receiving the token payment and notification of a DMP - are they trying to get you to change your mind/pay more money this month??
