Then that's a new one on me!!! Is there any way of complaining about that sort of thing?
Also, do you really care about what people think? Do people care about your affairs? Also, did you say it came separately, in which case, people wouldn't see it if it was hand delivered? I received the usual RMA one through the post, which basically said someone would be calling, but I took no notice, as I really couldn't care less what people thought of me (But then I've had it all my life!)
However.... I guess you could say that if someone DID see it and take notice, then they may do something about it (loan shark, blackmail?). But I see good in all people so that would never happen.
I would certainly NOT want my neighbours knowing about my debt problems, not even my family know:eek:
I would'nt even want the postie knowing either paticularly, maybe thats just me.

Hey how you doing Kudox? apart from the postcard problem
Don't seem to be getting statements from the creditors either like we used to or maybe we getting used to not having lots of bills through the letterbox!DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
I don't know if it was hand delivered or not BUT our postie has a very bad habit of delivering everyones post through the neighbours house, so it could have been put through next door and they just put it through the right door.

Hi Toffee Penny:D
You're not the only one. Absolutely no one in my family knows about my debt. My OH knows I'm in debt but doesn't know the extent. I'm just too ashamed of the mess I got myself intoDo what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0 -
To be honest Rachael, I find it really embarrassing too! Thats why I hang out on here so muchDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0

Doing ok Toffee Penny, done bank charge reclaiming letters and cca requests so far this week, theres no stopping me at the mo, wonder how long it'll last:rolleyes:
It's ages since I had statements from some of my creditors, last October for Capital One!
Maybe sending cca requests is a bad idea, it might wake up a sleeping giant:eek:
Rachelfleur, I was ashamed at first too, but not so much since i started to deal with it, you should be proud of yourself.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Hey everyone!
Well today has brought:
- more calls from Aegis final one (before I turned my phone off) at 8:45pm, not sure whether I can be bothered to send another 'stop calling us' or make a formal complaint - I have small children who are in bed by that time. V. annoying.
- another letter from Egg saying they'll default us on the 24th because we've ignored their letters. Morons. We've now sent the 4 letters each recorded delivery (signed for on receipt). I will be sending them a formal complaint because they are ignoring our attempts to communicate with them. I'll copy it to the FSO but I seem to recall we have to go through the inhouse complaints procedure before we complain formally to the FSO (not that I expect them to do anything).
- NatWest - AGAIN - have taken a 'maintenance fee' of £28 from my wife's student account (hasn't been active for 10 years & had about £6 in it) in lieu of her loan repayment (this is the account they defaulted after one token payment). Obviously this now makes the account overdrawn & allows them to charge un-authorised OD fees & interest for pretty much as long as they want - nobody can convince me that they are doing anything other than profiteering from our difficulties. We're now seriously considering bankruptcy for my wife to take her creditors out of the DMP.
So far Egg, NatWest & MBNA (via Aegis - they are more of a pest than menacing) have been the worst.
HR manager is on holiday which is holding up my statement of income & delaying everything still.0 -
I think I will be able to tell them one day when it's all over. I am so proud of myself for finally swallowing my pride and accepting that I can't do it on my own and I need help. Hence being on here all the time, I can talk to anyone without being judged and it's given me the strength to seek help. :jDo what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

NightPorter have you considered claiming back the bank charges?DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0

I just think life's too short to worry about what people think of you.
Sorry, I should say non family and friends. People who don't know me don't matter! But it depends on your situation. I live in a quiet parade of flats where everyone keeps to themselves and work such odd hours that no-one ever sees each other!
My family certainly don't know the extent of my debts, but I think they know I have problems. My dad keeps asking if I've cleared my debts yet.If only he knew.
Anyhoo, please ignore my ramblings, I'm tired and talking rubbish!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Toffee Penny am I right in thinking you have made cca requests? What sort of response have you had, was anyone actually able to provide them?DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080
