I had same letter from MBNA today asking for payment, no mention of DMP letter or £1.00... Which was sent 10 days ago.... also Im ignoring constant calls on my moblie from HBOS.... BUT IT IS VERY SCARY.... CCCSare still sorting out my DMP and I havent had a start date yet, cos my affairs are a bit complicated.... so I am even more scared.........NEVER missed a payment on any of them til this month.....was borrowing off each to survive... as had wages halved by employer oh well..... glass of wine time:rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Kudox. No tea and biscuits here either I am afraid.

Feel the need to scream I am just off the phone with MBNA and spoke to a real smart guy!! Who wanted to know all the in's and outs of my debts and how much I was gonna be paying CCCS. He then wanted to know if I would like to back out of my CCCS DMP as I havent paid them yet and go onto his plan.

I then has to tell him I would not be backing out of CCCS and that was all I had to say and hung up. Total waste of time trying to communicate with these monkeys they dont listen to a word you say.

Am off to watch poor Jades wedding on telly and calm down and remind myself that compared to having your health debts are nothing
I agree you can't have a reasonable conversation with these people, best not to even bother.
I'm just watching that comic relief thing where they climb Kilimanjaro, it's good to be reminded that actually debt is nothing compared to starving to death, as you say at least we're healthy and have enough to eat.

  • I received my first letter from CCCS yesterday telling me what to do next. I've cancelled all direct debits and now have a new bank account :p The next thing I have to do is send all my creditors a token payment along with the form CCCS give you to fill out, should I put a cover letter in with this and should I ask them all for my current balance? I have the balance's for all my CC's but don't have the current balance for the loans. I also don't have any current letters from any of my creditors due to hiding away from the problem and binning them! I'm due statements for my CC's so I can send them to the CCCS but I don't have anything for my loans, can I send copies of my original agreements?

I'm really scared about what I'm gonna get in the post over the next few weeks!

I posted this earlier today but I think it kinda got lost, so many people on the same boat. :o

I tried to sign up for a free credit report with experian but forgot I had already used my free trial a few years back, so would have to pay to view my current file. Does anyone know any other free trials I could use to view my credit file? Someone suggested earlier I do this to find out my current balances.

    Hi rachelfleur,
I think I sent a copy of the agreement for the loan, I certainly didn't ask for an up to date balance from them so I must have done.
You dont have to send a cover letter with the token payments , the letter cccs provide is enough.

HI ianmak, in fact the MBNA card was handwritten, not computer generated at all, and not in an envelope, so the information on it was there for all to see.
Whoever does see it knows what its about because who gets a call from a credit card company if they're not in arrears thats worse as far as I can see.

Someone has the job of actually writing all that C**p out, which I suppose makes me feel a bit better:D

Then that's a new one on me!!! Is there any way of complaining about that sort of thing?

Also, do you really care about what people think? Do people care about your affairs? Also, did you say it came separately, in which case, people wouldn't see it if it was hand delivered? I received the usual RMA one through the post, which basically said someone would be calling, but I took no notice, as I really couldn't care less what people thought of me (But then I've had it all my life!)

However.... I guess you could say that if someone DID see it and take notice, then they may do something about it (loan shark, blackmail?). But I see good in all people so that would never happen.

Thanks, think I'll just send the CCCS cover letter then. I'll also dig out the original agreements too, lots of copying for me to do this weekend. :p

I think I got one through PayPlan when I first started with them. Equifax I think it was. It was either free, or cost £2, which is what they charge if you request it by post? I'll check...

Not sure if that is the full report, but fairly sure it mentions all your creditors and stuff?

  • Evening all! :D

I too am watching the mountain climb thing, really good!

    How is everyone tonight?

I had one of those 'you weren't in so collect your parcel yourself' type card through the door yesterday, so tonight I raced from work to the town centre to our Royal Mail depot. It was my SAR from Littlewoods! BUT it was for the wrong thing! I wanted it for two loans we had NOT my catalogue but I was in one of them moods when I got home and decided to phone a creditor!!  I told OH I'm sick of writing to them! I felt so brave and was ready to ask and argue about all sorts but the lady was lovely on the phone, didn't ask anything about my DMP, said the SAR was just passed to her department and she will get in contact with the right department for the loans.

Still feeling brave I decided to give HFC a ring too to chase up OH ppi on old loan , I wrote to them December and we have only had one standard reply from them. The lady said that OH case hasn't even been assigned to anyone yet  but we were entitled to contact the FOS over it. She said the company was very busy with ppi claims and it will be dealt with in due course. So it looks like another trip to the Post office for one last £10 SAR postal order

I'll get them in the end! :D

Thanks ianmak. I actually signed up to annualcreditreport at the beginning of the year but for some reason it doesn't show all my creditors. Misses out 2 of my highest loan lenders. Don't know why.
