That's sounds fair enough then debrag! i wondered what you did if you got some extra money but not enough to split! unfortunately i didn't need to look into it as i have no extra!! ;) So yes i think you should definitely tell payplan when paid off!

Rachael, I don't know about cccs but on the payplan site there is a list of what banks are linked to who so you can pick the right one. might be worth having a look. Also my payplan lady told me which ones i could go to! So if you can't find it online might be worth ringing and asking!

well I have but every last penny into my DMP so every so often I have some extra

They must have heared me at payplan...had a phone call this morning from them saying payment has been recived and that they are paying all creditors today, iv just logged in to justabank again and yep everything showing as paid!!!!
So only 4 days from payment leaving my bank to them reciving it and paying crediotrs.............i wished i had changed over to them years ago.the switch between the fee paying firm and payplan has in total taken 5 and half weeks from me contacting payplan and them sending out my first payment via them to creditors...thats not bad going i think!!

Can just sit back now and wait for the next 30 months for my dfd!!!!!!
    Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's good advice 2spicy!! It is quite frustrating coz i just want to see it working and everything seems to take so long!

Are you paying extra to them debrag? Are they actually on your dmp? I'm not sure on this one to be honest, coz all mine are getting is what payplan give them and every single debt i have (apart from debts to parents) are on the plan. Yes you should definitely tell them if they are on the dmp or they'll keep paying to them even once it's cleared (i think they only review and get new balances after 12 months or close to their completion date). But if they're not on it I'm not sure they need to know!

It takes 3 or 4 days for the Standing Order to get to PayPlan then about another 5 days to get to the creditors. So I think my money goes out around the 3rd, and reaches the creditors around the 13th.

Not ideal, but there you go...

Also DLB, did you know that PayPlan may offer you car insurance (among other things) through a company called Bluefin? May not be ideal for some, but could offer you a good deal? I think there's a link on the Justabank website. Cover my wheels, or something like that.

Just to add, for those worying about payment dates.

Payplan are sometimes requested to make payments on certain days, so they may sit in Justabank for a while without being paid.

For example I have 4 debts with CL Finance and they ask payplan to pay them on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. So they always get paid later than all my other creditors.

So don't worry if some show as OK and some don't for a while.

    Hi All,

After nearly getting convinced to go on an IVA I read through Martins guide about them and it told me to go to one of the debt advice charities for advice first. I tried CCCS and they recomended a look into a DMP which I've decided to do. I've applied and been accepted for a new bank account and starting to get in the process of cancelling DD's. I'd been trying to keep on top of everything by budgeting well in advance but spending off credit in the moment to get by. Used payday loans for the past couple of months and its got unmanageable to the state where I have no money to live in - So decided to wave the little white flag - and am releived to have done so.

Quick question - with regards to token payments. What is the maximum and should you just pay the same to all creditors?

    Thanks

I just wondered what sort of bank account you applied for. I've just accepted a DMP with CCCS today and was told to set up a new account. Just applied online with HBOS, and they declined my application for a reward account with debit card and instead offered me an easycash account which uses an visa electron card. In my application I declined the offer of a cheque book and overdraft is this why it was declined or is it because of my credit history? Should I try somewhere else or just go with easycash. I'm just so used to paying by card for everything and I don't think you can do this with visa electron, or can you?
Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.

Hi there, I opened a Co-op Bank cashminder account. I don't believe this is credit-checked as it's suitable for BR customers. You get a Visa electron card, DD and standing order facility, online bankig etc. The only thing you don't get is an OD and a cheque book. I think that also if you show you can manage the account well they will look to transfer you to their mainstream current account in the future. Good luck! :o EDIT: I've not found anywhere that doesn't accept Visa Electron yet!

    Hi,

In my experience you will only get basic bank accounts if you have a bad credit score (which I do). Don't worry about using Electron - I've never had mine declined. The only place I can't use it is on a few internet sites and for that I have a pre-paid mastercard.
