I hung up on them twice but after they phoned third time in as many days I stayed online out of curiosity and the 'senior' person was absolutely lovely and she got calls stopped too,not heard a peep. So next time just let them put you through you may be lucky like me.

    Q for everyone?

People keep mentioning recent activity on CC's . I have had recent activity,we bought a Hoover as ours blew up and withdrew £200 cash  Ok I know this was bad and it did take us to the limit but I have to confess its been eating me up. Will Payplan frown on this and the CC company?

    Some advice would be fab
    Thanks

    Hi Bex

We used our cards last in Dec and contacted CCCS on the 20th Jan so some of the statements we supplied had transactions on them and nobody has said anything. I think it's ok as along has you haven't used your cards since contacting the DMP companies as I know with CCCS you sign a form stating that you will not use/ gain anymore credit.

  • I think creditors sometimes use recent activity as an excuse not to accept payments or to continue adding charges, not that it should make much difference when they realise you arent taking the mickey and are paying all you can.

    Evening all,

Received my first letter from CCCS with my notification of debt and dmp agreement form. Feel a bit excited to tell you the truth - is that a bit sad?

I'm planning to ask for my DMP to start on the 1st of May to give me time to get my car serviced and sorted.

I've also realised that I haven't accounted for my landline and a few other bits - is it possible to ask for my monthly payment to be a bit lower to account for this if I specify the particulars?
I'm paying £1125 a month so reducing it by a bit would allow me to budget better I think.

Also, silly question I know, but how did you word your reason for change of circumstances - I don't really think 'Spending like I think I'm a Hollywood star and burying me head in the sand' will cut it.

Daffy - thanks for your reply, hopefully as time goes by I will develop your confidence and share this with a few people, thanks for the reassurance. Sorry you're having such a bad day of it, hope it gets better soon xxx

    Hi Donna,

I am with Payplan and my money goes out o our account on the 3rd of the month, i generally shows up in Justabank around the 9th.......

I havn't read the threads for a couple of days, and its taken me a good half hour to read through them. Welcome to all the newbies just setting out of your DMP journeys, and its great to read that everyone has a good sense of humour.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I have always said it costs nothing to laugh and it makes things seem a lot easier to bear. My and OH always end up laughing over our money saving schemes, he used to be absolutely useless on saving or cutting down, but I have now got him well and truly trained. !!..;).. He looks for bargains in the supermarket, he checks for roadkill to go into his sealed pot, and even uses his teabag twice. We'll be millionaires before long. !:T:T

Does anyone know a quick link for what CCCS base their allowances on for a single person (or one person living in a house of two adults)

:rotfl: I like the chamagne tastes St0lli........or maybe 'shopping like Victoria Beckham but without the size zero body or millionaire income'

I might use - overcommitment of finances though, that sounds serious and nonspecific. Thanks x
