    Hi everybody:hello:

I had yet another phone call from HSBC this morning. The woman on the other end of the phone started going on about managed loans and all the usual stuff. When she stopped for breath I told her that I had recently sent a letter (last Wednesday i think) informing them that I wanted my phone numbers removed from their database as they are harrassing me. I also told her that I would report them to OFT if it carried on (I also stated that in the letter).
She put me on hold for a minute then came back and said "sure no problem, I will remove your numbers from our system now" - RESULT!!!:D

I've asked them on numerous occasions before when they have phoned to remove our numbers and they said they couldn't so obviously its the threat of being reported to OFT that did the trick - just thought some of you guys who are still getting hassled would like to know!

And thanks everyone who advised me to send a letter in the first place.:D

Honestly you lot have nearly made me cry today (and i'm still not through reading everything yet)!

So many things you've done or felt are the same as me and it's so nice to not feel alone in it! I do think the banks are partially responsible and haven't helped! BUT at the end of the day my parents have never been in debt coz they only ever got things if they could afford it! and this is where me and i think a lot have people have gone wrong! it's far too easy (and seems safe enough at the time) to buy now, pay later! My mum is on the sick at the mo and when she tells me how much she gets I can't believe she's managing! but she is and even lent ME money before xmas when the boiler broke!

And I agree about women are more likely to deal with it! All the women I know in relationships are the ones that deal with the money! My DH is useless quite frankly! We both spent the money admittedly but whenever i try to talk about it to him i can physicaly see his eyes glazing over and his mind drifting off to pleasant places where he plays rock music for a living (have to say i wish he did this too! I'm still waiting for him to get famous and make me rich!! ;) ) It's always me that deals with it and it has caused problems in the past coz he just doesn't understand why i get so upset! It is only money (one of his favourite lines) yes but we'd still be screwed if neither of us took responsibility for it! He's just always had things sorted out for him so he still expects things to still happen by 'magic' now too! (disclaimer: i'm obviously not saying ALL men are as useless as my man! hehe!)

    Anyway, you lot are great!

had a few phone calls today, first one was additions catalogue they asked me to go through the security questions etc, i basically just told them i was in the middle of commencing a DMP and gave them my reference, they were ok about it.
Next directory phoned afterwards, i informed them i didn't wish to discuss it over the phone and that they would hear in writing from myself and and CCCS, the guy on the phone wouldn't take my ref number and kept saying he was putting me through to someone more senior, he told me not to hang up the phone and i did!!!! is this ok????

I hung up on them twice but after they phoned third time in as many days I stayed online out of curiosity and the 'senior' person was absolutely lovely and she got calls stopped too,not heard a peep. So next time just let them put you through you may be lucky like me.

    Q for everyone?

People keep mentioning recent activity on CC's . I have had recent activity,we bought a Hoover as ours blew up and withdrew £200 cash  Ok I know this was bad and it did take us to the limit but I have to confess its been eating me up. Will Payplan frown on this and the CC company?

    Some advice would be fab
    Thanks

  • Good evening everyone.

Well in the post today we received a notice of termination of account from RBS but their happy to accept the payments. Letter was quite nasty in tone but I'm getting a thick skin dealing with creditors. Said I was an irresponsible customer.

Other letter was from Blair, Oliver & Scott in-house DCA for Bank of Scotland. Informing us that we have 14 days to pay the full balance (9k- I don't think so) or call them to arrange possible payment options. If I don't contact them they are threaten door to door collectors/ court etc. Then in huge letters their helpline number. I'm not going to phone them, I think I send them a copy of my CCCS I&E form and let them know that they'll receive a payment from the CCCS roundabout the 25th of March.

Is this the right thing to do or should I call them instead???
