jenevieve - I had letters and calls from RMA Resolve (Amex) and RMA. I think I ended up speaking to both and explaining my position.

I know what you mean about this TP.We were in a meeting at work the other week and I started to drift, like you do in them boring briefing session things!I started to look around the room and tried to guess what each persons financial affairs might be like!!!!!I come to the conclusion that I dont think I was the only one in the room with financial problems and probably not the only one on a DMP!But blokes being blokes, and working in a department with about 95% -5% more men, we just dont talk about these sort of things with each other!Thats what makes this place so good!!!Cocker:)
Yeah know what you mean, I'd love to be more open and tell anyone who would listen about this site, the people on it and what I have learnt about debt issues; cca's for example just to see if I could help the poor sod who can't sleep over their money worries like we did months ago.DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
I know this might sound pathetic, but the card companies are also responsible, hiking up card limits all the time, and when there is pressure from kids for uni funding etc, you think ok... also when times were ok.. paying them off was fine... but this recession is hitting people hard.. and now the card companies are hiking up the APR .. The bank bosses are doing ok though...Is it all our fault being caught up in this tidal wave of live for today?0

I don't think it sounds pathetic at all 50broke, I just wish we had been told 'no' alot sooner because we wouldn't owe so much like we do now.DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0

One of my beliefs is that you should never have any regrets in your life, but............... I really do regret not discovering this site a couple of years ago.... even 9 months ago would make such a difference to where I am at the moment!
But like I said... no point in regreting so I've just got to bite the bullet and keep working away at getting the debts decreased through my DMP. I don't deny the debts and I so want to get them paid off. I just want to experience receiving statements of zero balance - how great will that feeling be!:jLight Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
i got swept away in the live for today mentallity, i still do to a certain extent, but when it started to affect my future i knew i had to act before it got out of control!!

I don't know, beans on toast is quite nice to have every now and again... I've found the dmp a great way to start losing weight, and eat healthily...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

I came off 0% balance transfer with MBNA in Feb 2009, and when I took it out I was fairly solvent, and I understood that after the 0% period was over it would revert back to my normal rate of 15% APR, however they are charging me 35% APR. Will this interst be frozen in my DMP?
Last months interest was £387.00 !!! any help please.....0 -
I remember seeing Martin on GMTV one day and seeing a link to this site. I couldn't believe the sheer volume of people talking so openly about their money worries, I was directed to the CCCS website and I have been on here ever since.
I must admit I am on here most nights just to check up on what has been said. It gets addictive this iste because there is so much info on it. It might seem sad to some, probably those who don't 'get' the internet but this site and the people on it have proven invaluable to me.
I am more confident, I still have my off days where I worry about creditors and debt but I feel better within myself. I don't feel like there is no way out, does that make sense? before we were paying and paying, mounting up the debt every month basically kidding ourselves that next month was going to be better and it never was.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, it might be a long way off but at least there is an end to it all.DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
