Hi everyone, I can't believe it's been so busy on here today - isn't it great?!! It really is a weight off the shoulders to be able to openly discuss your debt with non-judgemental people who are in the same situation.

I came home from work tonight to find what I thought was just a normal statement from Barclaycard, but having looked at it properly it says in very small writing that they have passed the debt on to Mercers DCA - does anyone know if these are in-house people or an independent company?

There has also been no interest added this month so I can only assume they've frozen the account!:j
I wish HSBC would be as amenable as that - I read today that 5 of their top employees got 33.5 million in bonuses between them last year.:mad:

Thanks to everyone for all the advice on claiming back unfair charges - I think I will let the DMP run for a couple of months then when things have settled a bit, look at claiming then.

Just wondering MD if you managed to get hold of CCCS today re your paperwork?

erm I don't think you can change your username as it was what you registered with, although if you pm a Mod they might be able to help you.

Welcome emsmiff, this thread is full of lovely, supportive, knowledgeable people who all pull together and have a great sense of humour as well.

I'm waiting for my welcome pack so am a bit behind you but like you I am a bit excited (if also scared) about the future........

I don't know if you can change your username unless it is absolutely necessary - you could drop one of the forum guides a pm and ask.
