When you are having a bad day my advice is................
SOD IT FOR THE DAY!! put away all the creditors letters dont think any more about it...24 hours is not going to make any difference....just have a day off from worrying and you will see it a fresh the day later.

Hi Hayley11:hello:
I know how you feel - i'm well into my thirties and only just starting out on my DMP journey - oh well, only 10 years or so to go!!
However, everyone on this thread seems so helpful and though its not nice for anyone to struggle, it's also nice to know you're not alone.
Keep your chin up it will all be so worth it in the end.;)

Hey Ollie if things are going smoothly thats a really good sign...if you are going to have any problems you find its when you first start out on the dmp..normally first 2-3 months...so the fact you had no problems yet is a really good sign!!
I was very lucky and didnt have many problems, but did have alot of phone calls and court papers in first few months..all dealt with and with out a problem, what ever comes your way, it can be sorted so never worry about anything..life is to short and debts are something that can be sort out.
xx
Ps im guessing you have a poodle??? lol and as for new to posting, the times i have to edit mine due to spelling mistakes or reading it back and it all sounds wrong...so dont worry, we will not be marking you out of 10 lolProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Morning everyone.
Thought i pop in before i head out to footy with the kids!!
Cocker.......i understand where you are coming from regarding the fee paying dmp companys but...i now see that what they were doing is wrong!! They were very good at telling me what i wanted to hear..yes i could call them whenever and for whatever reason, i sent them original copys of everything for them to deal with ..........BUT since iv changed over to payplan which has only taken me 3 weeks to do so, i have only had to pay the crediots myself once on 1st Feb and payplan take over from 1st March, i have found out from 2 crediotrs that had started applying interst that it was because my old dmp company had not been in touch or sent upto date info which they told me they had, i told these creditors i was swapping to payplan and they told me that interest would be stopped again once they recived details from payplan.
Also payplan only ask for copys of statments not originals which i am more comfortable with, and in under 2 weeks i have now got an online record of everything via payplans justabank website, i can see ballances, amount to be paid, if creditors have agreed or contact letters that have been sent all in one place.something i never got with the fee paying company..infact all i got from them was a statment of who they had paid each month.
In the 3 yrs i have been with them i paid out over £2500 in fees alone..money which could have been paid of my debt an i would have been debt free a year earlier!!!
You said Right best get off
Catch up with you all later
Donna

Hiya,
I really do hear where you are coming from Donna and I must admit I am seriously considering switching to Payplan.
The thing is, one of the perks of being one of their customers is free legal car protection. As we have two cars in our household, and OH has only just passed her test, this save us quite a lot of money on our actual car insurance. If I cancelled now, I would have to add it to our insurance policies mid term. Any adjustment to our car insurance mid term of the policy appartenly also incurs a fee!!! So really want to wait until car insurance renewal time which is November.
Also, they really do do what I tell them to do. Honest! I'm always thretening to cancel with them and they will do anything for you not to quit. At my last budget review, they suggested that I started paying more each month, I said no way as we were trying to save a little each month. This was due to reduction in our mortgage payments. They rekoned creditors wouldn't like it, so I told them to "fudge" the budget to make it fit the monthly payment. Guess what? They did!!!:D Only the unreasonable creditors who were already being funny refused the payments. All the others accepted again!
When I removed Lloyds TSB from the DMP, they never questioned it and just cancelled the payment to them and re-distributed the funds to the other creditors! Easy!!!
Would CCCS or Payplan just have accepted it?
Through ppi reclaims, charge refunds, and unenforceable agreements, our total debt is dropping much faster than I would have ever hoped it would when we started the DMP, so at the moment i'm a happy bunny!!!:EasterBun

Q for dlb-Donna
Payplan have said to me not to send any documents eg; statements etc just to tell them the figures. But everyone else has had to? This is a little odd wouldnt you say?
I start my DMP in 2 months. Everything set to go but token paying for 2 months as a HUGE MOT bill come in.
Bex.xx
We are the same with PayPlan. no documents requested. We have also slightly over-estimated our debts/ or used last months statements so were a little ahead of ourselves.
We used to worry, but guess they will ask for any documents they need in due course.LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

They `fudged` the budget for me also...ending up in us paying £150 a month less than i am now with payplan..this used to really worry me the fact i could ring up say i need the payment reducing and there was no whys? just yes we will up your food budget!!! I now realise they didnt ask why because they knew if i reduced my payments it ment i was with they for longer and they got more fees.
I understand they are throwing in the free insurance but again its to keep you with them for longer...come November you should really consider talking to a free company and shopping around for the car insurance, we used to run 2 cars whilst i was with fee paying company and when we sold on the company told me not to declaire it!!! Hence when i came to my sense and started considering changing lol.
As long as you are happy thats all that matters.
Donna
