Q for dlb-Donna
Payplan have said to me not to send any documents eg; statements etc just to tell them the figures. But everyone else has had to? This is a little odd wouldnt you say?
I start my DMP in 2 months. Everything set to go but token paying for 2 months as a HUGE MOT bill come in.

Hi there
When we started our DMP with Payplan last year we didn't have to send any statements etc to them either. We just provided the figures owed to each creditor and then Payplan confirmed these figures with them.
Hope that reassures you!

Bex this will propably be because you arnt starting your dmp for another 2 months and payplan ask you not to send in anything thats over a month old, so they will have asked you for ballances to get a picture of how much you owe and may ask nearer the time for more recent statments.
Plus on 2 of my creditors i dont get a monthy statment and they just took the ballances i had got from phoning the companys...so no need to worry that some of us have and others havent sent them.

Hi Bex,
I've been with Payplan just over a year and have never been requested to send any documents in. When I started, they took approximate balances from me. They confirmed these with my creditors and that was it.
The only letters I've ever sent them are letters of assignment when debts have been handed over to DCA's.
Just had my 1 year review and they didn't ask for any documentation then either.LBM : March 2008

I felt exactly the same yesterday after reading that thread as NR is one of our creditors too! One minute I've convinced myself that I'm doing the right thing for us as a family and the next, I read, or hear something that sets me back to when I first started this difficult journey.:(
I'm glad I'm not alone on the NR front.

I posted on the DMP thread ages ago, when we first looked into getting one set up and it has taken months to finally get it sorted because of one thing or another
But it is finally done and I am going to make the first payment tomorrow :j
It's going to take 8 years to clear it based on what we're paying now but hopefully OH should be getting more hours at work soon so we can pay more.
It's scary to think I could still be paying off this debt in my mid 30's, debt I ran up in my early 20's:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

I know this thread can move very fast and it is easy to miss points that maybe be of interest, so thought id try and put together some key points to think about or consider, plus motivational reminders.
1-If you find yourself in debt and are no longer able to juggle the payments...DONT PANIC.
2-Read as much information as you can, but dont be worried if you read any negitives..THERE IS ALWAYS AN ANSWER..you just may not have found it yet.
3-If you decide a DMP is the way forward for you....you are in the right place for help and support.:j
4-A DMP is a way of managing all your debts, with one single payment a month via a 3rd part ie..your debt managment company. There are loads of fee paying companys out there:mad: ...BUT DONT GO THERE... head over to CCCS/PAYPLAN OR NATIONAL DEBTLINE for completly FREE help and advice.
5-Always remember to be proud that you are dealing with your debts and never worry that you will be judged by these companys..they are so nice and you will feel so much better after you have spoken to them for the first time.
( and if you are still unsure what to do please just give them a ring as it costs you nothing and have nothing to lose by talking to them)
6-Setting up a DMP is straight forward so if you have heard anything else dont belive it, as long as you are honest about all debts, it is just a case of working out what money you have spare for your creditors after your day to day living costs.
7-Some creditors are better than others at agreeing to payments via a DMP, and you can not guarenntee that interest will be stopped but in most case this will happen reducing your debt and meaning you are debt free faster.
8-Phone calls will happen and the creditors will try what i call `scary tactics`, you will learn how to deal with these very quickly, and soon realise your in charge and they cant have what you havent got.;)
9-Payplan/cccs are there to help you with everything, court papers, budget, letters from your creditors..so never feel you are alone, they are just a phone call/email away.
10-Never lose hope....you are doing this for yourself and the journey can be strange as this is all new to you but it is so worth the final result.:D
We are all a very friendly bunch, who are going through the process, we have people at the starting block, some mid way through the journey and one or two who have reached the finish line!:T
So if you are reading this and want any help, please post us a message and we will try to help you.
!!!!!BE PROUD OF THE FACT YOU ARE DEALING WITH YOUR DEBTS.!!!
