DLB - How's the head?? ....or maybe not!

    Hi Billybobberyl

Sorry to here that things have started to go a bit ary! Does your hubby HAVE to take the payrise? If you're gonna be that much per month worse off I would go to his company and ask for the rise to be postponed for a year, maybe if he could ask to reduce his hours to bring his salary back to where it needs to be for your extra £318 ,they may even be grateful in this current climate.
The best advice I can offer at the moment, and obviously I don't know him job / employers etc, just trying to think of a way out for you.

Try not to fret too much
    MD xx

    Morning all
Could somebody please advise me - I started my DMP at the beginning of this month so obviously my creditors havent received their first payment yet. They have had all the appropriate letters from myself and cccs. We have one debt with barclaycard who have been fine, but all our other debt is with HSBC. We have just received a letter from them saying they will accept lower payments but the figure they want is much more than the DMP figure so no way!! What I want to know is whether I should be forwarding the correspondence I get from them to CCCS or do I just ignore it?

Any advice would be very gratefully received, its still all a bit new at the moment and a little scary!
Hope you all have a good weekend

    Hi Suze

    Welcome to the board! :j
I'm probably newer than you are at all this DMPing, as we don't start out DMP with CCCS until April 1st:eek:

If I were you I would send all letters etc on to CCCS to deal with and likewise if you get a phonecall I would let CCCS know. I have both Barclaycard and HSBC as 2 of my creditors too, so it'll be interesting to see if I get a similar response (not sending my Notification til end of month).

DLB hope you have not got too bad a hangover this morning ;)

Massivedebts - morning hope you are well its nice to see you giving advice to others -well done xxx

Suze72 - I wouldnt bother sending statements and letters confirming agreements to the DMP payment to CCCS - but any letters received saying that they want more money than you are offering or if a debt has been passed onto a DCA then I would defo forward a copy onto CCCS so that they are fully upto date of whats going on.

    MNM xx
DMP starting 1/3/09 - thanks to CCCS & MSE

HSBC also phone us 3-4 times a day - they just dont seem to acknowledge that we are on DMP  Its really frustrating. I keep asking them to remove us from their call list and write instead but no luck so far. I think i'll try sending one of the template letters that have been posted on here instead.

Re forwarding letters. With PayPlan, they have a list of documents on their website that you may receive from a creditor, and what to do with them if the arrive. Do CCCS have a similar list?

Re not acknowledging DMPs, I confirmed with the creditor that they haven't received an I&E and/or letter of authority from PayPlan, got a fax number them them, then phoned to ask them to resend the information. It does seem that it takes a while for the creditors to get the message...

If this is continuing it is time to actually report them to Trading Standards or Office of Fair trading as they are breaking the OFT rules on debt collecting. Look at the OFT website and download their guidelines and keep a note of the rules that they break.

It might be worth contacting HSBC first though to complain and atate that if they dont stop harrassing you, you will report them.

It has worked for me with several of my creditors, however HSBC aren't one of mine.

    Cocker:)

Thanks Ianmak I just logged onto CCCS website and found the list of types of letter and what to do with them so will have a good read in a minute.
Cocker, I will try sending a letter off to them and see what response I get! Otherwise the OFT sounds like a good idea.
Has anyone else had the same probs with HSBC?

Hi, oh yes, morning, noon and night ... 7 days a week (cant believe they ring at 8.20am on a Sunday!) we have caller display so we know what the number is and we've told the kids (who very "helpfully" like to pick the phone up whenever it rings) that if the particular number comes up on the screen, not to answer it. We've told them that its just some people trying to sell insurance and despite the fact that we've told them we dont want it, they keep ringing :o

The calls stopped briefly for a while but have started again recently.

We're having a few problems with HSBC. First they said they would accept reduced payments (and at the same time tried to get OH to sign up for their version of a managed loan - including interest!) and recently we got a letter from CCCS to say that HSBC were now refusing to accept the payments. We got a snotty letter from HSBC but I cant work out what to do with it just yet so when I feel more up to it, I will tackle it.

Best of luck with getting them to stop the continuous calls. I'm sure they will, we've just been unlucky. Everyone else has stopped - so that's just one out of 14 who keep ringing.
