Hi guys,
just to update... My DMP through CCCS starts 1st March. Since getting notification from my first creditor (A&L) yesterday that they have agreed to reduced payments for a period of 3 months before review I have received three more letters today. Two virgin credit cards and a MBNA card with debts totalling around £10,000. After reading many horror stories here, I got my OH to open them and read the contents to me over the phone! Virgin and MBNA (although they are linked anyway but still send seperate letters with exactly the same wording) have agreed to the reduced payments on 0% interest for a period of 12 months. I am so happy as at least the payments I make will put a dent in the total debt. Only ten more creditors to hear back from now so cross your fingers for me. My OH did say that we had also received a statement from Barclaycard asking for two payments even though they had a token last month so I am not expecting great things from them but at least its a start! :jOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 1145DMP mutual support thread member: 264

Well, after being turned down by all of our creditors to accept our FnF offers, weve now put the lot on the DMP and increased our emergency fund by £5000. I think a Mini ISA for 12 months, let the money actually make some money instead of soaking up the debt.
Also, Postman delivered a letter from our mortgage company. They have dropped the baserate to 3% and as a result our payments have dropped by another £50 a month (looking back through our records, when our DMP figures were given to PayPlan, we were payiong £289 a month on part of our mortgage. this is now £140 !!! )
Weve already discussed what we intend to do with the surplus, and that is to bank it, and every £1000 we save, put it aside for FnF offers in 12 months
Result !!!...
Now, if we can just get one creditor to accept a FnF payment before we commit the money to an ISA, then well be happy.
Yummy, well done on following up on the court papers, another result.LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

2Spicy sorry to hear about your creditors not accepting F&F but hey at least you got a nice stash to put away and good news that your mortgage has also reduced xxx
Hope everyone is ok - I am been a bit under the weather the past few days and not felt well at all - am feeling a little better today and have received letters from Next, Littlewoods and Capital one saying that they have all frozen interest for the next 6 - 12 months. So good result there just waiting to hear back from a few more.

Going to be phoning Nationwide tonight to sort out my OD (not on my DMP) and also TSB to stop them calling, you'd think after 3 years they'd give up wouldn't you?!
Want to get both my OD's paid plus my DCA's then my other payments will increase.0 -

Yummy Mummy, am so pleased for you! Well done for tackling them-doesn't it make you feel better when you take the initiative? Makes you feel more in control of the whole situation, rather than sitting worrying(remind me of this next time I unplug my landline to avoid even the possibility of calls..!!)x
Bexxie, hope your day has improved and you and hubby made it up. I know it must be such a strain on your relationship( upside of being single is no relationship to strain:rolleyes: !)but you are stronger and better than them!x
And Rugby, things will get better, sorry about your friend but the sun will come out again.
