Snap, we're worried about that too as it was too late to redirect my salary, We're feeling ok'ish but this all seems huge and scary at the moment. We've never missed any payments so far so this is new terroritory for us. Oh well here goes .0

The weirdest thing was cutting up the cards! My wallet now closes instead of bulging with credit cards-to think I was once so proud of them:rotfl: !!-but it almost feels like going out without clothes on. This will be the toughest month financially and I know that what I have in my purse is IT but at least none of that horrible stomach churning standing at the cashpoint drawing out the CC cash and feeling my heart go plonkety plonk into my boots at the thought of all the interest it charges...!DMP Mutual Support Thread member no.2490

my purse is looking sad too !! Did think about buying a new one to mark the occasion but that kind of defeats the point !! We were just wondering if we should nail the post box shut to avoid all the letters. Only joking0

Post! That's one of the things I keep worrying about! What will my postman think when I start getting all these letters from CC companies?! Know I shouldn't give a fig but....old habits die hard!DMP Mutual Support Thread member no.2490

Morning guys:p
It's a POSITIVE MD this morning:j , could all change though so don't hold your breath. I'm back to work today, so won't ne able to post much but just an update. I'm posting all my paperwork to CCCS today, and have all my letters sitting by the front door with token payments to all my creditors ready to go at the end of the week (want to check mortgage paid this month and salary changed over all ok!)....then all systems go!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!:D
I will need a little reminding regards phonecalls please, I know CCCS told me to change my home number, but I fear that if I do that I may start geting phonecalls at work, so decided to be brave! Do I answer the security Q's that my creditors ask so that they can continue to speak to me or do I just give them my CCCS ref number and ask them to put everything in writing.
Have a great day all
I'll try and cathch up after school
MD xxFinally brave enough to deal with my debts!CCCS DMP - 1.4.2009Couldn't have done it without the guys on the DMP Mutual Support Thread.:T :T :T :TDMP Support Member 2550 -
I'm at the same stage as all of you... I sent my notification of DMP and offer of token payments to my creditors. I also sent the pack back to CCCS at the same time
I've been a real coward regarding the phone. Taken the plug out and just put it back in every so often to listen to the voicemails. I've not had any on my mobile yet, only a text from Halifax CC asking me to contact them.
John Lewis and Lloyds TSB have sent me I&E statements to fill in but I'm just going to send them a letter giving them my CCCS number and advise them they will be contacted by CCCS with all the relevant details shortly.
So far so good... its just the thought of CCJ's and charging orders that worries me. I've worked for a few companies who won't employ people who have had CCJ's so that's a bit scary! :eek:Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
TO all that are just starting out. It feels funny defaulting on your monthly paymenst and only sending token payments but you just wait to see how your are treated by these companies when you are in arrears ... you soon adopt the F*** it ! approach. Remember 2 key reasons why yoru here ....
1. a DMP is a way out of debt. you realise you either have an immediate problem, or a pending problem and you are taking action to resolve it NOW.
2. You have probably been robbing peter to pay paul or living on credit ( as we all have done ) for everyday things. This has meant any skills in sensible taking care of your money like your parents / grand parents had have been "lost".
This is a way of getting your life back on track, having money not plastic in your pocket, and re-educating yourself. In addition, it allows to put yoru essential debts first ( Home, utilities, food) and then structures the rest of yoru creditors to recieve pro-rata paymenst to reduce yoru debts, eventually leading to debt freedom.
For anyone still not convinced .. Look at the economy... Interest rates are so low its now worth having savings, but it is a good time to manage your debt. We too worry if we were to loose a job how would we survive. Its time to act, get the debts under control and finally put ourself in a position where we can say "Aside from the Mortgage, we have no debts". - only 8 years to go on that one.LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Well dont know if relevant but will post anyway
On my DMP I have included 2 loans from NR that total 23K,My mortgage with them is £143K and then I had what I thought was a Secured loan of £29000K but guess what it isnt! So what do I do? Just carry on paying the whole mortgage amount with this unsecured loan in it or default on that and include on my DMP?
Sorry if doesnt make sense, only I happy to stay as it is as I am used to monthly payment including this. Do I tell Payplan?
Thanks Bex.xx

If it was me I would tell Payplan but only for the reason I would prefer to have everything out in the open.... but that could just be me.....Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0

I was thinking about this but if I do that then they will for sure apply a Charging Order as it will give me the loan amount for certain as equity. Think I will ask Payplan what they reckon.
Thanks Bex.xx
