It seems as if this thread is run by a clique with their own agenda. The mods use the excuse that you cant talk about medicines yet there has been a thread on health and beauty about Xenical 120 mg ( orlistat) since the beginning of december. Perhaps mods can explain.
as it says at the top of every page the thread you mention has now been closed

I've quoted the post I made when I had to close the last Depression ThreadI've closed this thread and I'll start another tomorrow
problems with other users should not be discussed on the boards or brought into threads
there are reasons why explanations are not given after removal of posts, if anyone wants to question these reasons they should contact abuse (link in my sig)
this thread is here as a support thread, it started in the Arms and was moved here to try and stop unhelpful and unwanted posts, however it isn't really a moneysaving thread and as such is only here whilst it isn't causing any problems for the team
treatments of any kind should not be discussed, personal services should not be offered and if a post could be read to be offering either of these it will be removed/reported
talking about products or services that you also sell/offer for payment could be seen as advertising and is against MSE rules
jokes that could be offensive to any of the readers of MSE may also be removed/reported
please reread THIS POST by Martin, medical advice includes alternative therapies, treatments and counselling
this is not the place to discuss the removal of posts, either post in the Forum Policy and Rules Board or email the abuse teamI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I had a post removed.
I was wondering if anyone on here has a poor memory? Just lately I find Im trying to think of a word and it just wouldn't come. I was trying to think of the word "conservatory" and just couldn't and in the end said "you know, the place where your neighbours keep their guinea pigs".
I never used to be like this and it wasn't until I took an old type of AD that my memory was badly affected. My newer Ad's don't do this but my memory is still bad. I don't know if its just the depression though because Ive read that depression does this. Does anyone else find this is so or is it just me?
Glad it is not just me with memory problems although i had put mine down to the menapause,i often cannot remember names for things and i use the same way as you of describing things luckily my boys usualy guess watever it is i am thinking of.0 -
Glad its not just me then! Im 44 and not started the menopause (although I sweat more than I used to!:o ) So the only thing I could think was that depression was causing it. I was also worried that it might be alcohol but I hadn't had a drink all week and still couldn't bring the right word to mind!0

It feels strange quoting myself from an earlier post but I'm doing so because it sums up how I feel about this thread and I was gobsmacked to see how many people thanked me for it so I guess there's a few others out there who feel similar.
I'm posting it again in view of some of the recent posts which seem to have sparked off some strong emotions.
I've underlined the parts I just wanted to highlight.whitevanwoman wrote: »Hi everyone
Tiff - my thoughts have been with you for the past few days and whilst I am so sorry for your loss and the pain and grief you are going through at the moment, I am so glad you have found the strength to share it with us, as I am sure that so many others have been thinking of you too and wondering how you are coping. I do hope that putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and producing the Tiff Chronicles in the past few days has been therapeutic for you, and I can only say that, having brought tears streaming down my cheeks, it is a fitting tribute to your mum.
I've been quiet for a few days as there seems to be have been alot of other stuff going on for other people and I didn't want to hog the thread. I think it is a real shame that there are people who feel that this thread is not providing what it should and I think Savvy Sue is right to keep reminding us that by the nature of mental illness, it is very easy for us all to feel that we are being criticised, or to take offense when none is intended or to find change difficult to deal with.
I am NOT taking anyone's side here - I feel that as it stands the thread is a valuable resource for all, and I do hope that no-one feels that I am overstepping the mark here as I have not been involved in the thread since it began and I tend to only dip in and out of the thread when my depressions are bad.
In my opinion, the support and value of the thread comes from knowing that there is somewhere I can post how I feel - it doesn't really matter whether I get a response (although if I do, it does really help), the important thing is that, for me, this thread is a way of getting my feelings out, which I don't really have any other way of doing otherwise, as I have no close family and live alone, and the nature of my illness means that I tend to avoid contact with people.
I do worry that this thread will get closed - that's been part of the reason for my dipping in and out of the thread in the past - it's been suddenly closed and I didn't realise it had started again, I thought it was gone for good. Even though I may not post that often, or follow the thread that regularly, the HUGE importance of it for me is that if and when I need it, it is there.
Please don't take this post as a lecture - I just wanted people to know how important this thread is to me, and I feel very priviledged to be part of the lives of people for whom I have enormous respect, even despite our anonymity. The independent woman's checklist for success :1. They seem to drop in and out on a fairly regular basis so I'm sure they will catch up with you soon. Have you tried PM-ing them? The independent woman's checklist for success :1. Look like a lady, 2.
