yesterday about this time we were told MIL in coma, will not come out of it and has hours / days to live. This morning she is up and asking to go for a pee and wants to eat something and now being transfered to another hospital.
BIL going crazy trying to find out what the hell is going on. Funny old world.

My nan was like this for 3 years before she died, she had more lives than a cat!

it certainly helped put other things (problems) into perspective and also gave me the strenght / courage to get out the house and go and see by BIL whom I had not seen for over a year. He was so happy to see me standing there when he opened the door. We talked about everything and nothing, so for every negative there is a positive.

Rose.... I hate that when you have a really good am then you have a really poo afternoon, hugs to you.

Me... Im doing ok at the mo, still having the odd panic attakc but they seem to be mild compared like they used to be, still lacking in confident at work and new situations but still have the " i cant do that/this" and the blinkers go up but Im beating this nasty thing that has had a hold on me for many years and its stopping now.

This is MY feelings and thoughts, everyone's feelings and situations are different.

Well done teapartymum, you are doing well. You can beat panic attacks and lack of confidence. This is something someone told me to try to make myself think positive thoughts (instead of 'I can't do this' think 'I can do this') and to congratulate myself more on what I've achieved. :T I don't find it easy to follow this advice but my confidence has gone up a bit since trying to follow it. Is there anything that you find helps you?
How are you today Chardanna? What happened with the dentist/health visitor Jo_R?

I feel so awful. I'm really struggling this evening, and my friend (who has a history of self harm and suicide attempts) has texted me in a bit of a state and says she is giving up. I keep texting her but I'm not feeling strong enough myself to ring her and have a long emotional conversation. The trouble is that she also has a mild form of autism and gets stuck in a loop so you have the same conversation over and over again and she doesn't take in anything you say.
I feel like an awful person. I'm full of self loathing. The trouble is that I'm only just about keeping myself together, let alone anyone else, but now she's not replying to my texts. This is terrible. Last year I had to call the police and an ambulance to her house as she phoned and said she had taken tablets, but for all I know she might not be replying because she has gone to bed. That often happens!

    hi rosepink

its like talking to myself lol, welcome to the thread

Hun, this must be awful for you. I have had friends do this to me, and when your not feeling 100% it puts such strain on you. Plus doesnt help you. Im sorry but you cannot help her when you are not 100% yourself, i fear you may be trying to take too much on, and you need to make sure you are ok.
As to your friend, has she tried getting help herself? She could ring the samaritans

    08457909090

    http://www.samaritans.org/

she could also texted them on 07725 909090

But this is also about you hun, you need to do what is right for you, i dont want to advise you what to do or tell you right from wrong. But will say this you are not an awful person. You also need to make sure your ok.

If your friend has OD she may need urgent medical attention.

Hun we are here to support you, and if you need to talk i am here

  • Thank you so much I hadn't thought of the Samaritans. I have just text her the numbers.
I always seem to get low after I've been ill and I'm just getting over a virus. Going to see my mum tomorrow which will help!
I really find this thread helpful, its so good to get my feelings off my chest. I feel completely drained now so will talk another day, but thanks for listening - I really appreciate it more than I can say. Big hugs
