    Hi all

Hope everyone is well. Have briefly skimmed through more recent posts but need to have a proper read, hopefully later after DD1 at school and DD2 occupied playing!

It's my birthday today, going out for tea later with OH and DDs - quite a quiet affair but means no cooking so is fine by me LOL! :D Tomorrow DDs stay with their grandparents for the night so hopefully going out with OH, have a romantic date to the cinema planned, OH not usually bothered about cinema but if I pick something he's okay about watching he won't complain too much:rolleyes::D

Happy Birthday - I hope you have a nice day and enjoy your "date" tonight

I'm really glad that you went to the drs, hun and that he does seem to be very thorough in checking out all possibilities. May I offer a little Tiffy advice hunnie? Don't bother with the brave face angel - it just prolongs the time that you'll have to wait to get the real help you might need.wink.gif

I can understand that it's sometimes quite daunting when you've moved and now have a new dr, but you said yourself that he does seem very nice. Start building that trusting relationship with him sooner rather than later and if it gets too hard to open up, why not write a letter or a list of bullet points of how you're feeling and give it to him when you go next? Hopefully by now the pigeon post will have arrived by now, waiting.gif, and he will have your old medical records anyway to refer to when you visit him.

Hoping you'll feel better soon hunnie.sLo_hug2.gif

Sorry you are so stressed about your lunch date, I know it's easy for me to say but ring your friend tell her how you feel and just rearrange the date, that way hopefully she won't take it to personally.

Whatever you decide have a great day. Sssssss

Ive just emailed her to say Im still meeting her at 1.15 and wish I hadn't now. :(

Ive lost count of the amount of times Ive cancelled on her because of ill health. Just before Christmas I was supposed to go out to do a little Christmas shopping with her and then something happened that upset me and I was in floods of tears. I had to cancel with her. Then a week later my OH and I were supposed to be going out for an evening meal with her and her OH. Well, my OH had the flu and was too ill and we had to cancel that too. She always emails just before a meeting to make sure Im still coming and haven't forgotten because she is so used to me cancelling or forgetting altogether! I suppose I should explain to her that this is what happens when you have depression.

I have a few chores to do today and also need to wash my hair. I just can't summon up the energy at the moment.

I hope everyone else is ok this morning. Nice to see your posts again, Tiff!
  • Well done teapartymum, you are doing well. You can beat panic attacks and lack of confidence. This is something someone told me to try to make myself think positive thoughts (instead of 'I can't do this' think 'I can do this') and to congratulate myself more on what I've achieved. :T I don't find it easy to follow this advice but my confidence has gone up a bit since trying to follow it. Is there anything that you find helps you?
How are you today Chardanna? What happened with the dentist/health visitor Jo_R?

Wow what a day you had RosePink, Hope your ok today.
I'm feeling better than Wednesday, but still at an absolute loss what to do? Been emailing one of my friends at work, which has been a help.
Tried calling Occ health again- who have not returned my call again!
& can't get a Dr's apt til Monday morning before work - although I'm pretty sure he will sign me off again.
Have a great time with your mum! & mega hugs for your achievement yesterday xx

This is exactly what I am like and so I don't really have a social life. It's like constantly being torn in two; wanting to do normal things and being determined to do them, but then waking up on the day and just knowing that you can't face it that day. That's what makes it so hard to work and it takes massive willpower just to do normal things.

Why don't you print out what you have said in your posts here and give them to your friend to read, perhaps with some info or a link to a website about Depression and its symptoms, and info for friends and family. I'm sure that any good friend would prefer to know what they could do to help and would feel bad that they have, even inadvertently, caused you stress and anxiety.

Good luck - it never actually seems to be as bad once you're up and out, it's the getting up and out which is the hardest. Hope you have a nice time. x
