Hi, I am a tea fiend and my favourite mug is very stained on the inside. It's horrible to look at now, is there an os way of getting rid of it?

  • Same here, a tiny bit of bleach then top up with water and leave overnight. This brings my favourite mug up like new every time.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

I've used bleach, but prefer milton. I'm sure neither is great for septic tanks for those of us not on mains, but somehow milton seems less dreadful!

If you clean them with a scourer each time you use them it won't build up, just washing up liquid and a scourer.

dampen the mug, sprinkle in some salt and rub it around to remove the stain, or wash with a scourer every time, no need for bleach or other chemicals ;) If you put the milk in first, the tannin shouldn't stain your cup as badly.
