I just take a wet washing up cloth sprinkle some bicarb in the mug and then just wash it using that. Works fine.
No chemicals so better for the old environment. And as for me I hate handling household chemicals anyway. And no after taste.

i always use a little bleach. i do this also when i clean my tea pot , i will leave my teapot over night soaking in bleach and it comes up a treat. but cups i will eleave for about half hour. i never had them taste of bleach after but then i do wash them in hot soapy water after.
i also use milton's sometimes , and this works fantastic.0 -

I use a generous squirt of lemon juice (or vinegar) and hot water. I leave it to soak.
(I sometimes leave the mug in the microwave with the lemon juice in and the steam helps to make the micro easier to clean as well!)0 -
scourer and abrasive cleaning mixture (eg. the white stuff you use on the stove top - can't remember the name)0
