Soappie - you star!
Serena pleased to hear that
Chamichelle wondered about you...
Froddy hols - hurrah!
I am back from the do (did I mention I organised it?) I took with me a slip for everyone with their meal choices on it and a lil christmassy bit of clip art. Got lots of thanks and appreciation and it has been enjoyed (at £28.95 a head it SHOULD have been good) Did an idiot thing and mistook horseradish sauce for bread sauce and slammed it on my turkey then I tasted it and scraped it off again!:rotfl:
In the room where we were there were two other parties inc. another school. Well they had a hunky young male teacher with them who was being eyed up by our single-and-looking reception teacher...like the good friend and colleague I am I gave him her phone number! She was most surprised and embarrassed but she really shouldn't have described someone I knew (yep was at Uni with him...) as a 'bit of totty' and expect me to keep out of it. I went over for a chat while she cringed and ascertained that he is, at this present time, single. For some bizarre reason she seemed to think I was lying when I said I knew him. Better save for a hat then...
Hope he phones her - he is really nice (but WAY too young for me...)
BTW she wrote her number down (I hope...) I am not so crass as to pass on phone numbers without permission. Oh and my boss liked his secret santa pressie. This is good cos I was his secret santa! I was sitting next to him and he said 'I thought it would be really rubbish but this is really good! lol. He knows it was me now (brownie points needed everytime I can get 'em!)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all, just in from work and i'm pooped. Anyone from Edinburgh area who is interested the Liquid Rooms burnt down tonight:eek: Big fire apparently, cant find anything in the news at the moment.
Dusty you have a cracking memory! Her knotweed is being tended to:D
Gryfon who did you play rugby for? I've played for about 5 years, havent played this season at all though as been too busy with uni, usually play fullback or wing. Great fun and really good way to get fit.

Morning all. Hope all is well with flyladies. Not an early bird, I am afraid, but the late worm who may get caught by the bird. Stayed up and sorted the kitchen, which took longer than I had anticipated, but I thought that I would get more mileage this way rather than having to supervise and entertain LOs at the same time. Did manage to catch up a bit with the thread when I sat down to feed DD, she workup 4 times! Must be from the banging in the kitchen. Hopefully I’ll get a couple of hrs sleep before DS wakes or DH gets in and realises that I have been overdoing things again.
I started by making a batch of bananary flapjacks which happen to be half eaten already. I have done all the washing up, drying and putting away and the washing and sterilizing of DD’s stuff. Cleaned the cooker and every visible surface except for the wallpaper and the ceiling but including the greasy door frames. I haven’t dealt with the clutter on the work surfaces thought, just shifted them about neatly - but that’s going to take some doing. Will try to take it in manageable bits from now on but at least kitchen and bathroom are sorted before Christmas.
Happy Belated AnW’s mum
irieThe work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.0 -
Hope your in bed now irie, you need sleeps.
Triker - healing vibes for hubbys mouth.
Pigpen - I'll look in Leeds for the bag, see if I can find one there.
Johanne - hope your water has been sorted.
Valli - glad you enjoyed the meal.
Mudbath - glad you had such a friendly doctor who liked dogs.
Right, well, I've just under two hours before I'm getting picked up for Leeds, my heads is still pounding with sinus pain, and I think my nose is made of liquid, coz thats all there is (sorry if tmi). Fortunatly I still feel fairly alright in myself so thats not bad, painkillers here I come. Now MARRIED!11/09/100 -
Good moring everyone!
Being tidy does have its downsides - I've tidied the kitchen and now can't find the paddle for my BM
 If I order a new one from eBay, it might be here by Wednesday, but I'll make some loaves today and freeze them, just to be safe
We collect the :xmastree: today. We may decorate it tonight, or tomorrow. As lil_me recalls, we do it as a family, with carols on the CD and mulled wine and mince pies when we're done. It's when Christmas really starts for us.
I'm making leek and potato soup and tear-share bread for lunch, mince pies, loaves and an apple pie.
Happy belated birthday to A'n'W's mum :bdaycake:
Have a great day, everyone.
Penny. x

With me working so much at least the house isnt getting untidy. Ive done a load of washing and put it on the clothes horse and had a tidy.
Serena Im glad to hear your mum is better. Mum said yesterday your house xmas. I felt awful as its not possible physically but said we are coming to you this year with your presents and she laughed. Well haven't really had a chance to look at the thread as DS has been il again this week and have been busy buying presents and trying to get myself organised for my new job . really nervous about it.
Anyway plan for today is

ARGHHHHHH
Blasted Lego! The box is too big! ARGHHHHH
Lil-me - how important is the actual packaging? The box is 4cm too long for special delivery. The other dimensions are fine as long as I can fold it in half! If you don't mind a mutilated (but carefully!) box, I think I can get it rearranged into special delivery sizes. Otherwise we're going down the road of Parcel Force which gives precious little time.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Vanilla, good to see you posting, big hugs for you.Nope - they do not muck in, they tuck in - that's all they're allowed to do. I love cooking a feast for family and friends and just watching them enjoy the food. I tend to refuse any help. I also (sadly!) quite like clearing away afterwards - but at my own pace and in my own way.
Me too, I like cooking regardless of the numbers. Only got the four boys and DH this year but bought a monster turkey yesterday
.
Thanks Dusty and Lil me. Lovely getting up this morning and seeing upstairs really clean and tidy for the first time after months of plaster dust and sawdust. We have agreed that DH will not do any more decorating or building until Boxing Day so hopefully should stay ok for a week or two.
Need to do a more in depth clean downstairs though. The play room is really horrid, I may just mention that we won't be going to see Santa until it is sorted out. This is the most ahead of myself I have ever been on planning and everything. It really does get easier as they get older.
Need to make a substantial breakfast for everyone, then sort out the picnic. We are off to get rained on today - probably at Tissington or Bakewell. Haven't been out walking for ages but thought it was something we could do that didn't involve telling them off every 5 minutes like shopping.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
