Morning all!
Memory like a sieve so if i've left anyone out - hello!!!
Valli - glad you party went well, sounds like people appreciated you for it.
Serena - brilliant news that your mum is back at the home.
Emily - good luck with your move on Monday
AnW's mum - glad you enjoyed going to watch bucks fizz - it was them wasn't it? It's just I think you only mentioned it once so I might have got it wrong:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: !
The best news today is that i'm COLD!!! I've had the heating switched off since I came out of hospital as I was really, really hot on the other patches. Today I actually feel quite cold. My family and friends will be really happy that they might not have to dress for winter when they enter my house!!!
I've been trying to get DH to phone and start a claim for our cat since November 17th. Today I phoned the insurance and told him there was someone on the phone for him:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . Claim form on the way. He's taken spotty dotty dog for 40 minute run round the park. She's snoring in her basket as we speak. He's taken children to my mum's to see cousins and auntie again. So, i'm lying on the sofa, wrapped in duvet and doing as i've been told!!!
Does anyone think i'll be up for our usual christmas tradition? Every christmas eve we go to the garden centre, choose a decoration each and buy the pets their presents (DD does this). DH can drop me off right outside the door of the garden centre. I'm allowed ten minute walks from Christmas day so it's only a day early. I could take a cushion to protect myself (as in hold it over my stomach not hit people over the head). What does everyone think? xx0 -
Morning my flyfriends
Hope everybody is ok.
I had pc problems last night and only managed a couple of brief visits before I gave up - seems ok so far *touches wood*!!!! I was also very very tired and was in be by 9.00 I think it was - my MG was playing up a bit and I was having trouble breathing!!!!
anyway I am fine today and have done 1 x WM and then went to have HHc on the front pavement tidying my hedge and it turned into an hour - it was cold but its sunny and I tidyied the hedge then swept up and found dog poo under the leaves so then had to go and was done the pavement and my brush. Now I have had breakfast and am sitting here with a coffee and will do a bit of catch up on the thread and see what you have all been up to.
catch you later

I have heard on the news, a while back, that some people actually try to claim the money and get ripped off!
A letter is quite unusual, it tends to me an email. My mum got one telling her she had won a million pounds on the national lottery and was quite excited until my Dad pointed out it was him that bought the tickets and they werent registered on line. I spoke to my friend in the Fraud Squad and he said to delete it. There are loads of people who have been taken in by these scams. Maybe try Consumer Direct? Or can you email your police force?
lil_me - I have got a smoke alarm...I think my mind was in overdrive last night worrying about pigpens kitchen fire
G&B - it sounds hellish last night. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Hi mudbath - just saw your post so thought i would answer before i go back IYSWIM - what does your body tell you - do you think you would manage a walk - and is there places in the garden centre you can sit down if you get sore/tired - I think it would be nice for you to get out but you need to bee very very careful - cushion or pillow would be good and watch for people knocking into you too that was what frightened me after my big op. I used a pillow in the car as it covered more and stopped you moving about in the seat when you go round roundabouts etc!!!! its a lovely tradion you have. hugs and cuddles for you and spotty dotty poppy puppy dog - ooh its her first christmas wonder what she will make of it!!Morning all!

*sneaks in*
Hello all, sorry i've not been around this week -have missed you all! Has been a busy week socially (change for me!) and I was out wed, thurs & fri nights and as I'm not suppossed to access the site from work i've not been on!
The flat is showing the lack of flying though so this weekend's job is to get some done. Have done the kitchen already this morning, that's fine now. Plumber is currently sorting our loo, finally, so will do bathroom again later and the lounge and hallway. Bedroom i'll probably leave til tomorrow as that's when we usually change the bed.
The best news is i've now finished work until 5th Jan, so no more commuting though i do have to go into london on monday. I don't think I'll manage to catch up with the thread so any info I need to know would be great. can see that lil_me needs hugs.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Yes I am going to, it's just such a blooming minefield. Obviously I want the best cover we can get just in case, there are so many diclaimers and excess amounts you really have to research it carefully.
Plus I want an insurance policy which doesn't give the runaround if anything happens.
I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere of travel insurance companies, any suggestions folks?
Triker When I went to Canada in the middle of the SARS epidemic I used a company called Insure and Go online (they're on Quidco too) and I rang and spoke to them because I have pre-existing medical conditions too. They were really helpful and when I had to claim for the airline totally wrecking my suitcase and some of my stuff they were great and paid up really quickly without a fuss. But it looks like from this review site you either have a really good experience or a total nightmare!

Mudbath if you feel up to it go...assuming that it will be a fairly quiet place and not heaving. It's not like you'll be suddenly 'all better' the day after, is it...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
