I have to agree with Ben as well.

I note that at the very bottom of their webpages, it states:

(*) This estimated saving is based on purchasing one item and priced against similar products that we have found or sold on the internet. Please note that this saving is to act as a guide only and we cannot guaranteed or be liable for this total saving, as prices change on the internet on a daily basis and it must be the purchasers responsibility to decide if the estimated saving is appropriate and acceptable in order to continue shopping with grabitnow.com

I think the important word here is 'similar'. It seems that their savings are based on similar products - rather than the actual products - which is (in my opinion) a bit misleading really. Perhaps providing links to where they have found the higher priced items (like some other companies do) would be more fair.

I also find the comments regarding 'anonymous' comments on websites a little amusing as the 'contact us' section of their website has a non-geographical telephone number and a PO Box for the address............

  • As someone who has nothing to do with Grabitnow, and hadn't heard of them til reading this thread, I have to say that I would probably now avoid using them if I ever stumbled across them. First and foremost is the attitude of 'Grabitnow Office' who, up until their last post, seemed to ignore any questions directed at them, and I can only liken their posts to someone sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting "LA LA LA WE'RE GREAT, ANYBODY THAT SAYS ANYTHING ELSE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT, LA LA LA".

A poor show, Grabitnow. Tip: engage management brain before clicking 'Post Reply'.

I cannot believe this guy/girl from GRABBIT .I hope you aren,t from customer service..as if they dish out redudantcies you might be the first in line to go..It is not advisable to come on this site and argue with people and keep trying to justify yourselves.Just stick the offers on and moneysavers will give you marks when they get the packets of 10 minute lasting batteries,or cracker size playing cards...or better than expected gifts and in the mean time I suggest you get off the computer and get back to work and wrap some of those orders up and in a few days you will hear what we thinx of these 'bargains'

Not at all - like I said, I hadn't heard of Grabitnow until reading the thread. The claims of 'tat' and 'crap' don't really affect me - I can look at what's been sent out to people and make up my own mind. To me, the attitude of the Grabitnow poster, however, is a big red warning signal. The overriding impression I get is one of amateur management with poor customer service skills. And I wouldn't want to spend money with a company like that.

First impressions count for a LOT. And Grabitnow have, through their forum poster, made a very bad first impression on me.

    Good Afternoon Ben500,
Well, to retort with my own anecdote, some people like to shop in Harrods and some prefer Poundland and although a vast difference in pricing may occur, the end results remains the same - the customer has made their own choice and a decision to purchase that product at that price. In reply to your question, please note the (*) which is printed on the front page of every grabitnow offer :

(*) This estimated saving is based on purchasing one item and priced against similar products that we have found or sold on the internet. Please note that this saving is to act as a guide only and we cannot guaranteed or be liable for this total saving, as prices change on the internet on a daily basis and it must be the purchasers responsibility to decide if the estimated saving is appropriate and acceptable in order to continue shopping with grabitnow.com

Please also note that we quote "could save" and "compare similar prices" and no where on the site do we ever claim that we are the cheapest o the internet. However we do claim : "one amazing deal for one day only" and we also give "free delivery"...THAT IS WHAT OUR SHOP OFFERS

And my question to you Ben500, can I ask what professional trade you are active within ? Best Regards, Grabitnow

Thanks for that although I find it interesting you were reluctant to reply until t[interesting choice of font size by the way] his was found for you by Tom125, now I'm left wondering if that was because you weren't aware of your own qualifications of your savings or you were merely reluctant to do so.
In response to your own question, you may ask but as it has absolutely no bearing on the current topic I'll not be furnishing you with an answer.

With regards to outrageous claims I would offer the following as examples:

Tooltek Micro Pocket Tool rrp claimed £19.99 most expensive I can find on the net is £2.99

Funky Yellow Ducks - Set of 3 rrp claimed £9.99

HTD Cool Pink MP4 Player rrp claimed £69.99 nearest match I could find for this 1gb mp4 was a 2gb pink mp4 priced at £18.99

The one below though is truly impressive.

    " 10 Software Titles for 10 Pounds
We have an outstanding bargain for all our happy shoppers today. This brilliant pack of family software for your PC offers amazing value for money.
    Price £10.00 | Saving: £140.00

    "

In my opinion none of the above are anything near the bargains they are claimed, unless of course you can point me to a reference where you can substantiate them.

Together we can make a difference.

Totally agree, Wings. I've never come across Ben or anyone else before on these forums- but I have to say Grabitnow's sanctimonious attitude is slightly getting on my nerves.

It's very unprofessional what they're doing coming on here being so defensive, not to mention immature. Like I said before, when you offer a product or service which involves people parting with their money, those people have every right to be critical and to comment on whether or not they're getting good value for money. For heaven's sake, Grabitnow is not a charity.

Grabitnow should NOT have got involved by coming on here. They should have simply listened to the criticism, taken on board the sensible comments that have been made, and moved on.

My job is to play the harp at weddings, and I sometimes do come across comments about myself on forums. Thankfully I haven't read anything negative (yet!)- no doubt if I did I'd be pretty upset, but I would always try to use it as a learning experience for how I could improve my service to customers- not just go on about how wonderful I am and think that will make people book me!
