I've got my mum a leather handbag that I picked up on ebay for under £10. I've also got her a wheat bottle (like a hot water bottle, that is filled up with wheat and heated in the microwave), a small bottle of perfume and the Mama-Mia DVD.
MIL will be getting a digital picture frame that hubby found half price, some very (70%) dark chocolate and a Dove gift set.Sealed Pot Challenge Member 015 - Target £50 (2015=£70; 2014=£74.40; 2013=£61.76; 2012=£82.50)

I bought my mum jigsaws cos she loves them. I buy mine on line from a great company (Jigsaw gallery if anyone is interested) it's so much easier than trudging round the shops.
She loves Torntons coffee creams as well but I usually just buy her those as and whenFind out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
I got mine:
- Chocolate from Boots which came in a nice blue and white china box. My dad will eat the choccies and she will like the box! 3 for 2 - it was the free one
- A book (I forget which one) which came with the Times £2.99 book offer that I thought she would find interesting
- A leather photo-frame (£3 in WH Smith sale) with a picture of my dad dressed as Santa in it :rotfl: I know she will like that as I bought the same photo frame and she commented on how nice it was

Absolutely not!!
It IS the thought - nothing to do with how much has been spent. And besides, the biggest problem is (and parents know it), most of them have everything they want already and if they don't they can afford to go out and buy it themselves.
If your Mum is going to love and enjoy what you have bought her, then it matters not if you spent £5000 or £5.0 -
Those pressies sound great FF, they don't sound cheap at all, I bet she'll never guess.
My lovely Mum is getting Mamma Mia DVD as we saw the film together and loved it, a book ('La's orchestra saves the world' by A. McCall Smith) and some smellies.
By the way, I must recommend Waterstone's website for books, for some reason they are half the price of Waterstones store and have free, quite speedy delivery - very good!Up Jacob's Creek without a paddle!0 -
There's lots but be careful on the choices...
I bought my mum the Julie walters autobiography.
But in Waitrose, there's a very MSE present idea of lovely bits of stilton presented in a nice china case. That's like a tenner.
Dear Fatty, by Dawn French, however if you're mum is of the lifetime dieting variety then that might not be so good!
Hotel chocolat chocolate is perfect for diabetics because it's all natural, tastes great and is low in sugar (due to the cocoa content)
Just a list of suggestions for the more decision-challenged! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
